W.E.B Du Bois on Government Politics and Capitalism. William Edward Burghardt Du Bois, a well-known social scientist, political activist, author, editor, and educator, was born in 1868 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts (Mueller, 1993). According to his biography by Gale group, after high school, he joined Fisk in Nashville in 1884 where he excelled in his studies, graduating with a B.A.

This paper attempts to reconsider the nature and functions of family, through the prism of three sociological theories: Structural Functionalism, Symbolic Interactionism, and Conflict Theory. The each theory affects individual views, society views, and social change is discussed.

Indeed, the way slaves, most of whom are Afro-American are treated is abominable and inhuman. The whites have maintained a huge social divide within the society through deliberate power lobby. Even after proclamation of equality and constitutional rights, the blacks and non white population do not enjoy the same privileges as white.

According to the study conducted, the profound ethnocentrism that Horace Miner used to portray the ‘oddity’ of the American culture is, in fact, an analytical instrument to identify which American elite or intellectual has the perfect view of American culture and the most appropriate remedy to its ‘illnesses’. 

Capitalism in this sense would be bad for society, as it promotes the inequalities that are already on the surface, which Marx himself pointed out. In a capitalist society, we see that the rich earn their own money and contribute none, or very little, of this money to helping others.

These journal articles are essential in this study since they discuss how socio-cultural factors underpin the distribution of economic values in the society. These journal articles have been designated for analysis by the virtue of helping figure out answers to puzzling questions such as: why some races are predominantly rich; why some races such as the Hispanics and the African American have higher affinity to particular crimes; and the most appropriate corrective measures to be administered as the best panacea to these seemingly racially-instigated disparities.

My family is made up of one older brother and two younger sisters who all live in Kuwait. I moved to the United States of America two years ago in search for a better education and work experience. The methods that I used in this research include direct observation and interviewing. This research will also give the possible results on the study together with the problems encountered during the study. It will further explain the ways in which the problems were solved to ensure that this study proceeded without being altered.
