6. In session 1, you were given a sample of amoxicillin sodium of unknown concentration. Using the equation generated from the above calibration curve, what was the concentration of this sample? (1 mark)
It involves correcting and estimating baseline effect through different algorithms. Base line variation occurs in many spectral data. It is nonlinear or linear addition to the spectra that results to expected zero which attains a value that is positive. Baseline is a varying curve that is slowly going through the lower spectra part without the peak jumps.
9. The instructions on the paediatric suspension bottle indicate that the final volume should be 100 mL but indicates only 84 mL potable water needs to be added. Explain briefly why only 84 mL water is required to reconstitute this suspension? (1 mark).
10. In Session 2 and 3, you assessed the antimicrobial activity of amoxicillin sodium and amoxicillin trihydrate against two bacteria, E. coli and S. epidermidis. Using the data generated from this experiment, plot a calibration curve for each formulation on a single graph (against both bacteria); insert your calibration curve below.
