Araki’s photographs overflow with life. His life also is drenched in images. Some are good, others bad, others indifferent, some posed and others random. Some of the images are accidental, others prurient, some erotic and others anarchistic. Some are touching while others are vulgar, some lascivious while others are lurid and some are sentimental while others are thorough (Design Autopsy 1).
