This course on death and religion also prompted me to research more about the views of other religions aside from those included in the syllabus. After learning about birth, death and its relation to religion, my previous outlook on life and death have changed thus inspiring me to spend my life sensibly.
The Gospel of Mark, according to bible scholars does not have an author it can be attributed to (Muddiman and John 56). In a world with over seven billion human inhabitants, it comes as no surprise that there are hundreds of religions that help these many individuals see their world and their life in a special, meaningful, and profound way. These religions also allow people to better understand their world and their place in it.
In this project, I hope to bring out a clear distinction between the Ontological Trinity and the Economic Trinity. I also hope to outline and evaluate how the three persons relate to each other and how they work together. The project will have achieved its mission which is to enable Christians to understand God in a better way.
Christopher Helland’s “ritual” is concerned with the ways in which technology; predominantly the internet has altered access to information about religion. According to Helland, the speed at which people are gaining access to religious information and what they are doing with such information is contentious.
Religion is a collection of beliefs that try to explain the origin of nature and the existence of a supernatural power that controls humanity and the universe’s contents. Religion is closely attributed to cultural beliefs, which are linked with humankind in a spiritual manner based on moral values (Ganeri, 2002). The world has diverse patterns of religious beliefs.
One of the volunteers led us to the “Spiritual Discourses Hall” and some seats were reserved for us in the front row. The prayer before the actual spiritual discourse had just begun. Three youngsters stood before a common microphone and sang in unison in a sonorous voice:

Women Trafficking Around the World. According to Anti-Slavery International (2006), one of the biggest human rights crises in the world, and especially the Middle East, is trafficking in women and girls for sexual exploitation. The term “trokosi” basically means “slave of the gods” in different Ghanaian tribes. ‘Trokosi’, in ancient Ghanaian society, existed as a type of retributive system where the virgin daughters of Ghanaian families that had sinned against the tribe of authorities in the tribe were taken by priests as compensation.
The resolutions do seem to be a reasonable way of dealing with the problem of unauthorized use of the Lakota peoples’ religious symbols. While the tone of the resolutions seems a little militaristic, it is important to understand that the Lakota are deeply offended by the abuse of their traditions (Mesteth, Elk, and Hawk).
There are several values that I have personally gleaned from class. One of the values that I gained from class is the comprehensive, dynamic and pervasive nature of Christianity and its theology. Every individual in the world has a choice to believe what they want with regard to the existence of God. It is the belief of many that a Supreme Being does exist, and rules the destiny of every individual (Adams, 1993). There is the belief that every individual has a purpose in life, and that purpose is to serve the Supreme Being, the maker and creator of all living things.
Xunzi was the most faithful and devoted follower of Confucius than Mencius. Besides being a rationalist thinker who forcefully argued for the importance of ritual, he also laid a great impact on education, self-cultivation, statecraft, and formal ritual. His contradicting theory with Mencius that human nature is evil made him popular as a Confucian thinker of the classical period.
Mencius lived between 372 and 289 BCE and was a Chinese Philosopher and most faithful follower of Confucius. He had great respect for human life and established a group of faithful disciples (Van Norden & Ivanhoe, 38). In his interpretation of Confucius, Mencius focused his attention on the dignity of human life as the only way to transform society.
