Modernism was characterized by a wide-scale rejection of religious beliefs and the certainty of enlightenment thinking. Generally, modernism comprises of the creations and activities that deviated from the traditional art forms. Proponents of modernism felt that the traditional forms of art, religious beliefs, science, and even daily life activities were irrelevant in their works and outdated in the new political, social, economic environment.
