Jonson’s satiric attack against the general tendency to depend more on visual perception becomes evident from the prologue of the Volpone, as he suggests, “Now luck yet sends us, and a little wit/ Will serve to make our play a hit;/ … / Here is rhime, not empty of reason” (Jonson 39). He does not deny the importance of luck to see his drama appreciated by the audience.

Sanford Meisner, the legend behind the well-renowned Meisner technique, lived as an acting teacher for most of his life. With his famous statement that it “takes twenty years to be a master,” the success of his previous students prove the efficacy of the technique despite numerous critics, and his demise in 1997 did not end the contribution he has made in American theatre.

In the painting, Lucifer is a suffering angel, not the arrogant one who wanted to usurp God’s throne. Could this not be another ploy of the devil so we’ll have pity on him and sympathize with him? Trained calligraphers believe that modern international calligraphy style has originated from Hamdulla’s Ottoman style of writing.

The Lark Ascending marked the second piece for the concert, which was by Ralph Williams. As the last shout-out, it indicated Symphony No.4 played in A Major, part of 0.90 by Felix Mendelssohn.

In conclusion, humor is one thing that has the capacity to bring people together despite their differences in backgrounds and situations.  The human connection is strengthened when people interpret simple events with a twist of humor just so to drive away stresses and share with others one of life’s best free gifts… Laughter.

Art is difficult to define. In the age of postmodernism which promotes the openness of self-expression and the increasing relativity of arts and forms, more and more individuals and talented artists seek to breach the conventional boundaries of classical art. Postmodern art is characterized by the growing sophistication of forms.

The role of art in society has not been evaluated or understood especially when the arts in question are ancient and considered backdated. Ancient art has never been my focus because of their nature, but the situation has changed significantly over the course of study. The intellectual roots of realism can be traced to an ancient Greek historian called Thucydides’ on his classical chronicle of the Peloponnesian War, which took place between 460-395 B.C. Music uses chords and tones to claim its existence and that the aspects involve must go to the level of collaboration between science (the analytical, theoretical music paper), art, personal interpretation, and imagination. The analytic and synthetic aspects must be acknowledged. A musical performance must not just be a mere form of entertainment but also a symbolic thought of progression.

In fact, the play puts a question of women’s perception as men’s property and the negligence of the latter towards females’ needs of mental and spiritual development and self-realization alongside with achievement of marital duties. All in all, Susan Glaspell’s work with a deep ironic meaning in its title manifests the need for females’ struggle for their human rights and equality with males.

One of the notable philosophers who lived in the 17th century was Thomas Hobbes, who is remembered for his contribution to philosophy through the social contract ideology among other works. His theory of the Social Contract played a critical role in the mid-17th century as it came during the age of enlightenment (Friend 2).

Art can still remain true art even when it can be explained for instance in abstract art, where an artist’s art of expression needs explaining for the audience to understand. A design may be so new, unique, and innovative that it requires explanation and for fashion, the audience may ask for an explanation in order to understand it and embrace it.

When Schubert wrote his music, he was so mindful of the ‘rests’ that he paid them as much attention as the notes. Rests, in music, are silence. Music lovers realize they listen to a lot of silence. Artists pay a lot of attention to the distances in their paintings: the spaces with nothing in them - negative space - are vital for perspective. 

Products of arts, whether it be visual, musical, or poetic, are greatly influenced by the particular periods of time from when they are made. Aside from its artistic value, paintings, sculptures, music, and alike are used by artists as a medium of expression to describe the events, issues, as well as existing societal trends that characterize the particular periods in history.

The concept of visual art as a proponent of change and philosophies that surround society is one that is complex and questioned through several theorists. According to Fisher, the idea of this philosophy is one that is imaginative and which does not create a shift in thinking from various individuals. 

We can see how the same tendency to attempt to give our reality more meaning contains basically the same intentions as our attempts to give our images more meaning by making them indecipherable from reality. Of course, this tendency only makes both reality and images less effective than what it could actually be. 

The scripts which are written by playwrights are often used so that they can be performed by actors on stage. Even if they are not used for this purpose, they can then be classified as rich literary works which have been written using all dramatic elements required for a playwriting script. This script is not for dramatic performance by actors.

China has born in its soil one of the oldest civilizations in the world covering a history of more than 5,000 years and so with the culture there also grew subsequently the love for art and different art forms. Like paintings, paperwork, sculptures, calligraphy, etc. but not to forget the art in the form of folk and Opera which was an important part of the culture and civilization of China.
