The new Revolutionary ruling class tried to find some justification for its struggle and quest for political power. Many women were charged with both political and sexual crimes during the years immediately after the French monarch was dethroned. The most prominent among such women was Marie Antoinette who was accused of political crimes.
For scholars and analysts alike, the end of the Cold War is as controversial and significant as its origins and its most critical point. The term “subaltern” refers to the people belonging to the lower ranks because of race, gender or ethnicity. Their inferior position makes them unrepresentative in society. They are denied the right to express themselves freely. The social position of the subaltern class deprives them the basic right to voice their opinion against any wrongdoing.

With the failure of traditional methods of combating drug trafficking, newer alternatives should be tried out. One such solution that is making rounds among policymakers is the decriminalization of drug trade. While it does appear to be a reasonable solution, its time has not yet come for implementation.
One thing, however, which cannot be denied is that Lewis’ sources appear to be excellent. A large portion of them is primary sources and actual military reports. One thing that he might have done to make it interesting would be to interview contemporary army engineers and ask their opinions of how the doctrine appears looking back.
