This review addresses the topic of pharmacogenomics and the debate surrounding the prospects of using genetic screening to reduce the incidence of adverse drug reactions in patients on long-term drug therapy. Because renal diseases could restrict a patient’s abilities for self-care and worse his/her life quality than multidisciplinary approach should be used in all nephrology units.
More funds should be spent on preventive care rather than treating the chronic conditions which within no time will overwhelm the federal and state budgets. Health care funds should not be spent on extending life of a terminal patient merely for the sake of it.
