A Perfectly Crafted Resume - Essay Example

A perfectly crafted resume is very essential for an individual to gain a job especially when there are no recommenders otherwise. In this paper, I have discussed the changes I made to my resume according to the group critique, and the reasons for them. The first change I made to my resume was removing my picture. Majority of critics in the group were of the view that employers tend to draw negative inferences from an individual’s picture, irrespective of his/her looks. The second change I made to my resume was adding a cover letter.

The group suggested me that because the cover letter not only lends a more professional touch to the resume but also makes it more convenient for the employer to imagine the skills and capability of the candidate for the job. The third change I made was removing the objective. It made little sense to put the statement of objective when the objective is otherwise quite obvious to every employer who gets his/her hands at my resume.
