The hazards and losses that are caused by fire are very harmful and children tend to be affected more by the consequences of fire if it happens in the school or at home. The main aim of this project is to educate the primary school children on creating the awareness to the primary school children on the fire safety rules and regulations. The project will highlight how the fire events should be dealt with and how some of the precautionary measures be applied. The need to create awareness of fire safety programs are primarily aimed at the controllers of any organization or the managers but now as it has been observed it is an utmost necessity to educate the staff of the school, the children of the school, and also the parents and maintenance staff of the school so that all possible precautionary measure are easily applicable and comprehensible for everyone. Children studying at the primary level are not that capable of realizing the difficulties and reacting to it carefully. Therefore the school children need proper demonstration for the fire safety precautions and what they should do in the situations of fire. Constant practices through evacuation drills will make the children more confident that they can deal with these emergency situations of fire. Recruitment of Staff for delivering the project For creating awareness it is highly essential for the school to recruit personnel for delivering the project of child safety fire awareness of the school in the respective communities of the country. This task conducted by the personnel of the school will be counted as the staff delivering the project of child safety awareness regarding fire breakdowns in the school as the community safety practitioners who are concerned about the welfare of the community and tends to take all the measures of ensuring proper awareness. This type of task to be conducted is a very noble task as it involves in dealing with the welfare of the citizens of the country. The staff personnel have to highly motivated and clear in delivering the project related to awareness of fire safety to school children. They need to use easy language and make sure that their message gets across easily. The staff may be recruited on the basis of qualification and experience related to such fields. The delivery of project requires good communication skills and in the recruitment process the candidates needs to give demonstration so that their communication skills can be analyzed and judged to see whether they can effectively deliver the project to the community. The recruited personnel may be asked to deliver the project to the community by demonstrating the community all the possible reasonable measures of preventing the outbreak of fire on the school premises. The items that should be used in the school of a particular standard are the seat which the children and the staff use for being seated. The equipment needed for firefighting which could be the fire extinguishers and other similar products. Fire alarm systems are also a very important device needed by the schools. Since it’s a school campus a lot many fire alarm systems will be required, and they should all be of good standards so that they may work properly. Other physical resources that may be used of high quality are the fire doors, the emergency lighting used and the contracted services required for building maintenance. All these resources need to be of a high standard and so they would be incurring heavy costs. All these costs will be a onetime investment as things of good quality will last longer and also give the required benefits. Principal features for fire safety These principal features should be educated to all the children in the school and constantly be reviewed to them at regular intervals so that they don’t forget. The children should be convinced that there are enough means to escape the school premises if incase the school building catches fire. The escape routes are enough for all the children and staff to reach to a safe place from the place where the fire is taking place. If the school campus faces an outbreak of fire, then the school has enough identification systems that the fire can be detected in its early stage and be prevented from igniting on further. The children should be assured that the fire will not spread quickly and it will be restricted from being spread to larger areas. In the process of evacuation drills, it should be highly kept under notice, the different ages of the children, their knowledge of the customization of the school premises, the residing places of the children in the school with disabilities and also those children who are asleep in the school premises should be evacuated on the first priority of evacuation. This will allow the project implications to be evaluated that whether the project has considered all the aspects or some more additions need to be made for better outcomes of the project. The fire prevention measure will be highly successful in the school premises if all these measures are monitored on a regular basis. The projects implication will be successful. The school staff should work towards the prevention of gathering the waste materials in the school. The children should be given proper waste management guidelines so that all the waste of the school is disposed away properly, and the children do not misplace their garbage in other than the required areas. Some of the waste materials may be highly susceptible to catch fire and so proper disposing of waste is required. It should be properly ensured that all the appliances present in the school premises are in safe working conditions, such as the water coolers, or appliances present in the school cafeteria etc. All the cooking materials used in the cafeteria should be used safely and be made sure that they do not cause harm to the school children in any way. The school seating arrangement should be made sure that they are suitable for the children and also are safe. The seating should be in a proper condition for the child to be comfortable. It is extremely important to make sure that all the heating appliances that are considered portable should not be used and all those surfaces that tend to emit heat should be protected safely and controlled and maintained under proper conditions so that the fire outbreak can be prevented. The protection of surfaces emitting heat should be controlled in a thermostatic way so as to control the normal room temperatures. The garbage bins should be made from materials which do not catch fire easily, materials that are non-combustible. It should also be highly ensured that the different types of liquids and gases that may be flammable may not be present inside the campus of the school. For the project to be evaluated, regular fire evacuation drills should be conducted in the school. This would ensure that all the children in the school are aware of how they should respond is if at all there is an outbreak of fire in the school. The school management should record all the number of evacuation drills that have been conducted for practice in the school and each one should be evaluated. The drawbacks or faults that have been observed in the evacuation drills should be improved by the next time the drill takes place. Constant improvement in the practicing evacuation drills will lead to a perfect response if there is an actual situation of fire in the school. The children should be told where the assembly should line up in case of the drill being announced in the school. There should be an attendance call at the assembly place for all the children and staff present in the school. Accordingly as mentioned before, each evacuation drill being conducted should be extensively be reviewed for any loopholes or flaws that existed. Operational Assurance applied by the school management Operational assurance in case of fire outbreaks can be applied by ensuring that reliable firefighting services are contacted. Operational assurance teams can be made who possess the required qualifications so that they can review all the possible circumstances of fire and the rescue services available. All the cases of fire situation should be observed and analyzed and then accordingly reviews should be made in the fire prevention policies and measures. This way a better and effective plan may be developed for creating the awareness of child safety during fire outbreaks. The authorized maintenance services should be contracted for the maintenance of the building premises. All the electrical installations in the building should be checked by the contracted services for safety purposes of the building. The service maintenance personnel may also have to check the installations of gas and appliances, and also importantly the heating systems present in the school. The school should maintain a register of maintaining all the fire safety records, they can insert all the possible data related to fire safety applications that have taken place in the school for the purpose of creating awareness of fire safety in the school children. All the building maintenance records should also be inserted in the register so that the records can be followed upon off and on when required. Conclusion The importance of creating awareness in the school children about the fire safety is an extremely important program and it should be developed and implemented by all the schools so that better measures and prevention techniques can be conducted for the safety of the children. Children are very innocent and they may tend to get panicked if they see an event of fire.
