Why do People die that Way? Summary From time to time matters to do with suicide have remained a challenge among the psychologists and researchers of the related field. Previous researches have revealed suicide is one among the major factors that lead to death of humans from the ages of fourteen to twenty-four years. It takes a position immediately bellow accidents. The case of attempt of committing suicide have a high prevalence on women than men, however, men have a higher probability to die from it. Self-preservation is a strong human instinct; this also makes suicide more powerful. Various factors lead to the continuous emergence of death acts globally. For illustration, some of them include anorexia, bipolar disorder, major descriptive disorder, borderline personality condition, schizophrenia among many more. Among the probable causes of suicide, anorexia has the highest level of significance. Statistical findings claim that one in every five individuals suffering from this condition in due course dies from causes related to this disease. Furthermore, statistical findings assert that human beings suffering from anorexia are 50 to 60 percent more likely to end their lives as compared with the people in the general population. A notable example of a victim of suicide due to anorexia is Kristi. She was a member of the pro-anorexia community. Despite her efforts of writing and advising other members of the community, she still went ahead to commit suicide. The close relation between suicide and anorexia is what has led psychologists to try finding new rationalization of why individuals commit suicide. With the purpose of finding more answers to what statistics does not offer, various scholars have come up with explanations of which types of people are more at risk and why do some people commit suicide (Pool). There are various cause of suicide. From my own perspective, some of the assertions of Pool are agreeable and disagreeable. However, there exists a common similarity in almost all of them. The choice of Pool to write about why people kill themselves is a risky step. Risks To begin with, majority of users in our present day society are so into articles that are greatly trending. A topic of this kind is bound to make a writer less famous. Reason being; issues dealing with suicide are unattractive and mostly avoided during talks. Therefore, through writing about why people kill themselves he risks losing majority of his readers to other writers. Second, the effect of the writers article (Why People Commit Suicide) can both have a negative and a positive effect. For illustration, if an individual has a condition of bulimia or anorexia, goes through Pools paper he/she can either grow into being more suicidal or not. Therefore, it is a greater risk a writer took. Third, because his article only serves the purpose of explaining why people commit suicide the righter risks his work might receive minimal attention. It is because people are presently more interested to solutions of existing problems. Reason being, matters to do with suicide have been there over time, therefore, when its causes are talked of it will not be a new subject to the society. However, subjects such as five ways to effectively cause a reduce suicide levels, are likely to raise the popularity of a writer in a very significant way. Fourth, When an individual attempts to take his/her life, it stresses those around his circle. These could be the friends or the immediate family members. When the performer of this act becomes unsuccessful, those around them will be more interested in keeping them safe from things that might control the urge of committing suicide. It will include being given books and articles meant to counsel them. In addition, it will involve keeping away any material that talks about the tendency of those people with conditions such as anorexia and bulimia to inflict premature death on them as a solution to ending their pain. Therefore, through this writing, Pool risks not being popular among the writers who influence lives positively. Agreement The origin of suicide is within the social factors. The social aspects within any society have both the positive and negative side. The positive side will entail achievements during the negative side failures. When any ordinary human being is subjected to the adverse conditions of the present day society, they are affected differently. Majority of human beings are always able to live with it by accepting their faults and changing of character. Some of the adverse effects include depression and a feeling of hopelessness. For illustration, a neighbor of mine named John, was living as a frustrated man after he was fired for reporting to his workplace drank. With all his family members looking at him as their source of life he tried to secure another job but all was in vain. The fact that his family were living in a sorry state made things worse for him. Because he felt hopeless and entirely responsible for the then state of his family, he opted to commit suicide rather than living with it. Therefore, I strongly agree with Psychoanalyst Sigmund and Emile Durkheim that suicide is rooted within the social factors (Pool). Suicide cases are because of mental disorder among many more health conditions. A notable example of a condition that significantly contributes to suicides is the anorexia. It is one among many more causes however; it has a higher level of significance. I support the fact that those suicides effects can be blamed on the state; reason being statistics has revealed that one among five people with the condition opts for suicide. Furthermore, is seen as one of the causes when a member of the post-anorexia commits suicide. To many it was least of their expectation because the victim was an influential figure within her community (Pool). Anorexia provides a perfect condition for a suicide attempt. This explanation of Joiners hypothesis by Denoma, claims that people with this condition shun from social situations that might involve food. It consequently leads to an individual keeping to himself what his/her troubles are. As a result, this makes the individual to persevere themselves as a burden to the family. From my point of view, isolation of this nature will make one have a feeling that each and everyone around them hate him/her. As time goes by, life will lose meaning to them, and this leads to suicide. Through secluding one from the rest of the standard population, one is prone to make lame decisions. In ordinary human life, everyone needs one another for the purpose of advice or even confining some secrets. Selective socialization such as that of the case with Kristi makes one limited to the right kind of guidance (Pool). Subjection to scary experiences is also a motive for increased acts of suicide. It is mostly common among security officers who were at war. In the event whereby a soldier witnesses the death of a colleague in line of duty, they are more affected at the thought of their death. These groups also possess a high Suicide rate. For illustration, a number of soldiers of the United States of America after their mission in Iraq are reported having tried suicidal attempt on their lives. On the other hand, death cases are also a common menace facing security agencies in the third world countries. For instance, cases of police officers killing their immediate family members thereafter killing themselves has resulted to being a common thing in places the third world countries. The continuous growth of this act is due to the unavailability of timely counseling services (Pool). Those who perform the act of suicide and succeed in taking their lives were capable of doing so. In other words, this implies that victims who successfully took their lives must have thought of the most effective way to do so. Reason being, those who were new in doing the act could be having second thought about that and so they may not be fully aware of the most effective way of taking their lives. Joiners go ahead to assert that the self-preservation nature that human beings possess is too high. When most human beings have the idea of making their lives their sense of right and wrong makes them to change their mind (Pool). Painful and offensive events are the cause of increased suicide. Some of these events consist of gunshots and getting in fights does increase what is referred to as acquired capability. Such that in the event of any stressful experiences that makes an individual to start thinking about suicide attempts, the painful and distasteful experiences will give one the ability to do an act with ease. In addition, recent studies conduct by Joiners students proves beyond doubt that individuals who see themselves as being burdens and similarly experience dissatisfied are more probable to a suicide attempt. The act of appreciating oneself in every aspect of our lives is the key to a happy living. People who view their lives as having more meaning are likely to take their lives. Reason being they are of the opinion that they add no vale to the world (Pool). From a medical perspective, eating disorders for instance bulimia and anorexia significantly affects the proper functioning of the body. Statistics reveals that in every 100 victims of the two conditions ten-percent die. Most of these deaths are because of cardiac damage among many more health disorders. However, some of the victims of this condition always opt for suicide as a way of ending their misery. It has led to an increase in cases of death (Pool). Disagreement The finding of psychologist Thomas that somebody who kills himself, or herself must have more than once attempted the act. This statement is untrue, reason being, anyone who attempts commit suicide always does the action with the sole aim of taking away his/her life. Cases of suicide are common to those under stress or any condition that affects decision-making, so when they decide of taking their lives they are always at the state of giving up. Therefore, they do not always perceive it as an attempt. However, when the victims are discovered during the act and rushed for emergency medical attention it will be interpreted as an attempt. For illustration, ten years ago, a woman in her mid-fifties had a break in where she became a rape victim. She tried to call for help, but all her efforts seemed futile. She did not accept her state, and consequently, her life turned out to be a stressful one. Later on, she decided to take her life by ingesting an insecticide. However, her neighbors called for medical help and rescued her. It is to imply that the victim was serious about taking her life and was not taking any chances (Pool). Even though, Bulimia and Anorexia victims have been thought as having a higher death rate I hold a different opinion to this. From a medical perspective, the above disorders result to anemia, intestinal issues among many more. From the whole population with the disorder 10% only die from it. Most of the deaths brought about by this conditions result from poor healthy conditions that their bodies face as time goes by. Although suicide cases do occur among patients with these conditions, it is not that frequent (Pool). Conclusion The major causes of death among human beings are anorexia, bulimia, painful and offensive experiences, dissatisfaction, and the feeling of being a burden. The health conditions of bulimia and anorexia causes the wearing out of internal organs of humans. It always subjects victims to intense pain. Since the chances to survive are only available to those who started early treatment, most of them give up and opt for death. Painful and aggressive experiences also make individuals give up on life. Finally, the sense of being dissatisfied and being a burden also contributes to the increased suicide levels. When one starts to perceive himself as of no value his/her existence to her is meaningless too (Pool). Work Cited Pool, Robert. "Why Do People Die That Way ."
