Emotional Intelligence Emotional intelligence is defined as the capa of an individual to be self aware of their emotions, as well as the ones of the individuals around them. Jackson (pp.33) indicates that individuals who are able to detect varying emotions in other individuals are better placed and are most likely to deal with other persons in the society with a lot of ease. This emanates from the fact that, such individuals are able to discern the best actions to undertake in the case of varying information displayed by various persons. In such instances, individuals are in a better position to fit in an environment with various personalities. This essay shall highlight the validity and reliability of Emotional intelligence tests (EI) in an attempt to assess the possibility of persons being potential managers. Emotional intelligence tests have been indicated to be effective tools in assessing successful ability of persons to escalate to the position of leadership. Jackson (pp.34) argues that through emotional intelligence tests, it is possible to understand the characteristics of persons; thus, discern the best jobs, and tasks they can be perform with a lot of ease. Through intelligence tests it is possible to assess the mood of an individual. Negative moods can easily be detected by the emotional intelligence tests. This is evident from the results of the tests in question one, whereby the individual is in a position to deal with their fluctuating emotions. In question two, the online tests are valid, in that they explain how managers tend to think first prior to making whatsoever decision that pertains to the business. In the case of detecting the ability of individuals to become managers, if the results of the test turn out negative, then the individual cannot turn out to be a manager. Persons of negative moods tend to be distracted and chances are that, they may portray careless behaviors. Through emotional intelligence tests, managers are in a position to understand the norms of the business environment, and the signals of a business on its way to the drain. Since the employees comprise the business, an understanding of their moods and emotions is vital for the success of the business. Through the intelligent tests, leaders, from question 55 to 75, are able to learn the emotions of different persons and how to handle them in the organization. A comparison of both tests, it is justified to argue that, the emotional intelligence tests allow individuals detect their ability to detect their strengths and weaknesses and how they can use the results to develop their abilities to becoming leaders. This is evident from question 82 to 95 on the online intelligence test. Intelligence tests measure the extent to which an individual can handle tough situations in the workplace, for instance, the persistence of leaders in the workplace as depicted in question 99 of the online test. An ability to detect an individual’s strengths and weaknesses allow them work on their weaknesses and devise the best solutions to their predicaments. Emotional intelligence tests have been credited for their ability to measure specific criterions that determine the ability of an individual to deal with pressures within the confines of an organization. For instance, the emotional intelligence tests measure the ability of intuition in individuals. Managers are able to detect their intuition levels through emotional intelligence tests. Jackson (pp.34) indicates that intuition appeals in individuals can only be understood through intelligence tests. The study continues to argue that individuals who score above the median on the intelligence tests have been proven to portray attributes of proper management skills unlike other individuals. In this case, it is justified to argue that, emotional intelligent tests are valid and reliable in terms of assessing the abilities of managers to fit the role of a leader. Emotional intelligence tests are vital in assessment of the ability of leaders to handle the challenges met in the course of duty. Some of these challenges include how to deal with stress, fraud, and depressing circumstances in the course of duty. From question 117 to 138, leaders are tested on their ability to detect moods and feelings of various persons and how to handle them. Jackson (pp.34) indicates that emotional intelligence tests have been useful in enabling leaders fit in tasking leadership roles that other persons cannot handle. Through, the intelligence tests, leaders are in a position to understand their ability to be fit in competitive leadership roles. In the highest levels of challenging situations, managers who have undertaken intelligence tests have been indicated to have an upper hand in leadership positions. Emotional intelligence tests have been linked to proper assessment of charismatic leadership in managers. From the intelligence tests, the attributes of boldness, brevity and harshness in individuals are vivid from the tests. Such individuals who portray such attributes are likely to fit well in the position of managers as well as the meet the contemporary needs of the workplace. This can be linked to the results from online test from question 1 to 7, which touches on the ability of the leaders to deal with crucial issues in the organization. Emotional intelligence tests have the ability to test giftedness at an early stage of life. Through intelligence tests, the management team is able to detect persons who can add value to the leadership role in the organization. After detecting persons with emotional intelligence the management is able to take such individuals through training on how to perfect their skills on managerial abilities. Emotional geniuses can only be detected through these tests, who are later credited for their ability to deal with predicaments that face humanity. Among the problems that have been solved in workplaces through emotional intelligence tests include violence and conflicts amongst individuals amongst others. This would not have been possible without the emotional intelligence tests. In essence, emotional intelligence tests have the ability to identify persons of exceptional qualities in the organizations, as well as utilize them to their maximum potential. A personality score of 95 proves this fact, as without the test, it would have been difficult to detect the ability of the individual to becoming an entrepreneur. Despite the fact that emotional intelligence tests have been indicated to be unreliable in detecting the ability of individuals, intelligence tests have been useful in detecting persons of low intelligence ability and nurture their skills to being better persons. Young intelligent persons have not only been discovered through emotional intelligence ability tests, but also, been nurtured into strong persons who are able to deal with their emotions. Instances whereby natural talents would go unidentified in organizations create a situation whereby individuals who are likely to drive the organization to the next level. Many people with inner emotional intelligence have been uncovered by intelligence tests, an interpretation of the fact that, intelligence tests have the ability to discover talents in leaders who have previously been comfortable with their positions. From questions 8 to 15, the leaders are tested on their ability to handle stressful occurrences in the organization. An instance whereby the managers fail the test, they are likely to improve how they handle cases in the workplace. Jackson (pp.39) indicates that emotional intelligence tests help identify persons with inner abilities, but do not have the vigor to come out loud on what is good and beneficial for them. In the case of working environments, prior to discovery of managers, it has been through intelligence tests that most organizations have learnt the abilities of their employees as depicted from the results of question 16 to 29. Individuals who score high marks in intelligent tests are more likely to hold managerial positions. Through special treatment of such individuals, a great percentage of them are able to claim their positions in organizations. Conclusively, it is justified to argue that emotional intelligence tests are useful in uncovering the potential of leaders in an organization. In as much as analysts have varying views on the validity of emotional intelligence tests, Jackson (pp.58) maintains the contributions of these tests, far much outweigh its weaknesses.
