HSCO 508 WK3 DB Metaphors have always been used to offer an insight into the complex aspect of communication as opposed to the common misconception on the same. In this text, Stewart offers a critical assessment of interpersonal communication as a systematic process with significant influence on the sender and recipient. Inhaling and exhaling are equated to reception and expression aspect of communication. It is worth noting that communication constitute verbal and nonverbal aspect (Stewart, 2012). Literary technique in metaphors defines inhaling as perceiving and receiving of information from other source. Inhaling is a complex process that entails both hearing and listening. The breathing pattern across different individuals seems to be varied and that is compared to how people hear and listen to the information communicated. In agreement with Stewart, various factors like social environment, religious faith among others influence people’s ability to perceive communication. However, what matter most is the mode of information breakdown which in turn defines what is important or not and the general viewpoint of the receiver (Stewart, 2012).
The process of selecting, organizing and making deductions on perceived information explores the inhalation metaphor. It is also worth to note that inhalation is more of intrapersonal communication. On the other hand, exhalation constitutes expression of personal feelings with prior evaluation of what is expected of the receiver. The idea expressed must be taken through a series of self-assessment as it manifests the personality of the exhale (Stewart, 2012). In other words, interpersonal communication emphasizes disclosing self. Reaction towards information received open up avenues for assessing the truth behind ideas and helps in resolving stereotypes and eliminated unfounded assumptions. The process of inhaling and exhaling acts as an effective interpersonal and intrapersonal communication tool.

Motivation -wk3

...Human Motivation Wk 4 Assignment A good day is one in which everything I do goes well from the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to sleep that night. My work goes well because I am able to meet my deadlines easily and even catch up on a few thins. I have lunch with a friend and we have great conversation. When I get home, my children are not fighting and they are sitting down doing their homework without having to be told. This allows me to have time to myself and then get a good nights sleep. The Engagement Model According to research, an individual must be engaged in their activity in order for it to be psychologically fulfilling (Reeve, 2009). When I look at my description of a good day, I can say that emotionally... Motivation...

...Behavioral Blend. Task: Behavioral Blend. Behavioral blend can be defined as a mixture of trait factors that define an individual as per a model of human behavior designated by the DISC. This means that behavioral blend is a mechanism that tries to understand individual behavior as a result of the blend that arises from four specific traits as demarcated by the DISC styles. Consequently, behavioral blend posits that every individual behavior is not limited to one style, but is rather an amalgamation of all the fours styles, with varying levels of each. The C/S/D blend is one of the behavioral blends that always push for perfection. This makes individuals that possess this blend to be precise thinkers who always feel that things... Blend....

An individual can never be an effective communicator if they only do one of the two aspects. It means that communication needs that participants understand each other, which relates to their personal traits. Individuals should understand the context of the discussion and make their judgment (Carbonell, 2008). Such actions help people to avoid involving themselves in unnecessary conflicts with others. There are special considerations to personal traits like those mentioned,...

...Reply Steven Creasey Dear Steven, through your response, it seems that you have studied the concept of degenerative spiral in depth. It is obvious that you have good knowledge of the psychological concept at hand. It also seems understandable through your discussion that both the husband and wife in the movie went through the destructive pattern of diminishing communication, which is the basic theme of degenerative spiral. However, I see that there are not enough good examples. I like one example that you gave about the lack of communication between the husband and wife, but there is no example which relates to the husband’s efforts in making the tie better. However, it is still very obvious that you have grasp over the subject... Steven...
