“Person-Situation Interaction” Answer 2 Different persons respond differently to the same situation:Same situation is interpreted by different persons differently according to their past experiences, culture, faith etc. For example, a child bullied in his childhood is afraid of others and will feel uncomfortable in a party, while other will be enjoying it (Different perspectives, n.d.).2. Situations chose the person:The situation either allows the person to participate in it or not. For example, a hotel has room for around 100 people only, so not every visitor gets the chance of staying there.3. Persons chose the situation:People chose situations via which they can avail opportunities which are compatible with their personal features.

For example, a shy person will prefer a quiet place at home rather than going to a crowded place.4. Different situations can prime different parts of the person:Every person has various emotions each of which is likely to be initiated by some situations more than others. For example, a child after hectic school day acts stubbornly while same would be relaxed after a less-burdened day. 5. Persons change the situation:Often people change the situations according to their goals. For example, a teacher manages discipline in the class so that students listen carefully to the lecture.6. Situations change the person:Situation change the person in many ways.

For example, two graduated engineers from the same institute might be very different after one gets job in a highly paid multinational company and while other works in a private firm with less pay and packages.Answer 3a. In 1st dyad, me being a supervisor needs to know whether my employees are satisfied with their jobs or not? I must be aware of their abilities and manage activities in way that employees fit the demands of their job.b. In 2nd dyad, i should know the norms of organization and the ability of the employee.

If the company promotes cooperation, i must encourage my employees toward group activities that maintain the cooperative environment of the company (Chatman, 1989).c. In 3rd dyad, I should encourage the abilities of the employees and give them room to adjust themselves if the culture is new.d. In 4th dyad, i need to understand that hectic routine might make an employee get frustrated sometimes. So, i must arrange party or let them go on a vacation after few months, etc.e. In 5th dyad, I should consider the fact that intellectually flexible employees enhance the complexity of the work (Chatman, 1989).

They must be encouraged to raise the competitive advantage of company.f. In 6th dyad, I should perform actions to maintain the compatibility between my company and employees.Answer 4 The research design best for the company would be a “Person-Organization Fit”, which is defined as: “The congruence between he norms and values of organization and the values of the persons” (Chatman, 1989). It will be most appropriate because it enhances our ability to predict the degree to which an employee’s values will change as a function of organizational-membership and the degree to which he will be adhere to organizational norms.
