PORTFOLIO 2 SELF-EFFICACY PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN: 25% OF MODULE MARK According to Loacker (2000), this portfolio is mainly concerned with psychological theories in relation to how humans think and make decisions. Self-efficacy refers to personal belief and completeness in regards to reaching a given goal or objective in life. Self-efficacy concentrates in three major acts namely; dynamics, communication or interaction and self-concept. These acts of self-efficacy aim at developing an individual’s sense of being in addition to decision making. Furthermore, it defines reason some people persist towards achieving certain goals and objective in relation to success. For example, a situation where a group of individuals sticks to a particular diet for reasons best known to them or due to medical reasons. Another example of self-efficacy develops when a child cries over something he or she usually plays with, this might be a toy or a doll making him or her happy. The success at this point is happiness of the child. These discipline of social life deals with how people relate with each other in the community in relation to their living status. Self-efficacy majorly relates to the theory of cognitive and social (Greenhaus 2006). In cognitive theory, it defines how self-efficacy affects human thinking capacity in regards to achieving something in life. It is a process taking place in the mind just as Albert Bandura explained in the theory. It determines whether a person can take particular challenges after solving various questions in the mind. The questions depend on how an individual reacts to life challenges. For example, a person can decide to retake an examination paper at will but it will all depend on the confidence developed ion the mind of a person. If an individual is not confident to handle the examination, it is advisable he or she listens to what the heart or mind is saying in regards to the question (Strauser N.D.). Mostly, self-efficacy answers questions related to decision making. Self-efficacy holds human reasoning and belief in relation to making a wise decision in life critical issues. In life, people have different types of challenges they tend to handle reasonably and wisely. Some who do not make wise decisions end up making the wrong choice and failing in everything they do. Apart from making wrong decision in life, an individual can make a good choice in regards to what they want to be in life. Jackson (2000) explains that most students at the tender age always dream of becoming great people in the society, but due to unavoidable happening in the family settings and environment, they end up making the worse choice in life. It is therefore to the point as explained by Albert Bandura that a child should learn to think wisely while still young that waiting for it to grow. He says that a child learns through perception besides hearing what is happening in the immediate environment thus contributes to the later life setting that particular child. Parents play a major role in regards to career choice of the child since they are the immediate people who advise and guide the child ways of doing things while young. The world of business need a person of diverse understanding of computer for it will help in online marketing of the products and goods in regard to direct and online marketing is concerned (Haroun 2011). PORTFOLIO 4 PREPARING FOR INTERVIEW: STAR TECHNIQUE: 25% OF MODULE MARK PREPARING FOR INTERVIEW: STAR TECHNIQUE: 25% OF MODULE MARK According to Mehr and Kanwischer (2008), it gives an individual self-realization and confidence since it equips one with knowledge of knowing details of a particular job. Interviews are crucial in any person’s life more so in regards to working. The employer and the employee get to know various weak points so that they can work towards improving on the same. It also makes an individual learn about a particular company; one can research deep about a given organization of desire by looking into their mission, vision, objectives besides history of development. Interview makes an individual understand what the company does and what is entailed in the position for which one has been shortlisted. Interviews give one an idea of the required kind of skills and experiences. It is because some organizations always require professionals and experienced persons to fill a position. Other starting companies do not consider skills but professional qualifications. It is always vice versa since it depends on the management office to decide which kind of a person they need to bring (Osipow 2001). Another form of question that comes into mind is the type of clients the company, or organization attends to. It gives one a broader knowledge to research further on a particular clients besides identifying their business associates. Brown (2005) asserts that after that one can know the kind of employer, they are going to work. For example, when short listed for an interview for a position in micro-finance institution, one can tell that the employer is money oriented and does not give an excuse in regards to loss of money. The people working within the institution are also user-friendly since they deal with all kinds of people who need to communicate to in regards to saving and investing profitable for the future of the coming generation. It gives an individual confidence and comfortability to attend any interview after knowing a bit of the company history and what the organization or company is dealing with in a society or nation. It is important to carry most relevant document for the interview such as resume, cover letter, academic original papers, list of referees and their contact details (Hersen 2004). Since the interview is a test to give a general overview of an individual, the anticipated questions should revolve through academics, the job applied for, what the company or organization should expect if hired. The interview should also pose psychoanalysis questions, for example, personal traits and social life most. Most companies and organizations do not ask private life of an individual, but some will ask depending on the kind of job you want. For example, priests and clergy works require both personal life and social life status details to keep track of their employees. Lastly, after the interview, an individual should, therefore, anticipate for the best outcome if the interview turned to be successful. It always gives an individual self-esteem and confidence to research further and hope for the best of the company or organization if accorded the chance to work with the company or organization (Weeden and Winter 2002). PORTFOLIO 5: PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING (TWO PERSONALLY COMPLETED TESTS): 25% OF MODULE MARK In regards to psychometric, I scored six as my personal trait in regards to my openness. It depicts that I am an active and attentive person to inner feelings in reference to esthetic sensitivities besides being intellectually curious. I am also about to open my status to any person in regards to how social happenings and challenges are concerned. I hold fair political views neither do I concentrate much on liberation and conservation. I appreciate certain celebration because I take much of my time working on how I wish my future to look like. I incorporate traditional beliefs besides enjoying little hobbies in my life since I take much of the time concentrating on the better side of my life. In relation to my conscientiousness, my score is nine, which indicates that I focus on the structural side of life (Ohlsson 2010). It explains my personality as being vigilant, thorough and careful in everything that I do to achieve in life through desires and plans I have for my future. I’m oriented in achieving my goals in everything that I am undertaking. This describes me because I’m a person who uses ‘to do’ list in my everyday’s endeavors so as not to inconvenience my day’s plans and schedules. My room is always neat and set for academic mood. I work hard in achieving everything in regards to academic besides making sure that I concentrate on my daily schedules. I am an extroverted person, a trait that defines a person to be interactive and assertive in all that I do to make all ends meet. I speak when in a group but concentrate on my work so as not to disappoint the relevant authority in regards to any work assigned (Johnson and Gordon 2002). I also prefer making friend as far as working is concerned but keep them only for the intended purpose in life. Besides all these, I find stimulation out of this friends and work hard in realizing my goals when am alone. I am an agreeable person because my score as per the psychometric test is five. It shows that I can agree to a group of persons but take time to accept their decisions in regard to my career development. I am able to involve myself to a social group that is pro-active so that I may benefit from their resources. In addition to this trait, I take precaution to people I engage with in conversation since my major aim is to achieve my future desires. Emotionally, my personality trait score in regards to the test is nine. According to Ballesteros (2003), it shows how sometimes I get stressed emotionally on matters that are productive to my future development. Emotionally I don’t get carried away because I pay less attention to matters that do not contribute to my achievements in life. I’m a person who nobody even my friends can tell when I’m happy and sad. It is because I believe that when I let out my emotions to the people around me, most of them will tell me they have more pressing matters to attend to. References Ballesteros, R.
