Ideally, the target market is basically anyone who wishes to communicate over long distances. The BlackBerry previously was restricted to corporate only. However, it has recently been opened to any user of the mobile phone. The current population in the United States is composed on majority youths who increasingly need to communicate through the social media with peers as well as with corporations in which they have interest to work for. It can be well repositioned in the market through doing market research in order to identify the market segmentation so that marketing strategies can be developed so as to market the product in the most significant segments of the market (United States Census Bureau, 2010). The population of the United States is composed of corporations, individuals and other organizations of different lifestyles and ages. Identifying distributors and gaining the strategic approaches to dealing with customers would enhance distribution since the product would be able to move. Therefore it is clear that for the declining trend of the popularity of BlackBerry within the United States to take a different direction, it is important to consider improving the features of the product so that they match and even surpass those of the competitors (United States Census Bureau, 2010). Notably competitors like the producers of Smartphone have had strategic innovative moves which have led to increased demand for the product (Stewart, n.d.). The blackberry corporation should seek to improve the product features it should carry out extensive market research in which case appropriate research methodology like comparative research should be applied so as to ensure proficiency in finding out the issues that have led to the decline of the popularity of BlackBerry in the United States. Distribution problems should be well addressed through training of the different agents of distribution (United States Census Bureau, 2010). Competitive strategies should be adopted which will make the product to do well in the market. There should be continued product innovation in order to increasingly ensure that product features are improved in order to make the product appeal to customers (Stewart, n.d.).
