Module Cultural Diversity in the Learning Environment Work Environment The school environment can be described as being simply diverse. Students come from various parts of the world to pursue different degrees. Different cultures are represented from nationalities including Brazil, Taiwan, China, Japan, England, Africa, Columbia, the Middle East and Britain. These students face problems owing to cultural differences. To begin with, international students face visa related restrictions. Secondly, these students face difficulties in establishing new relations owing to differences in culture (Gay 49).

Thirdly, international may have difficulties while communicating with people from other cultures. Fourthly, students from foreign countries have issues getting used to the food being served in the school dining halls. In conclusion, students face numerous cultural problems in the new learning environment. My Buddhist religion values have taught me to embrace students from different cultures and faiths. Cultural Diversity TrainingThe school environment has set up a program to deal with cultural diversity sensitively and effectively.

An orientation program has been in place to welcome all students and familiarize them with the school environments and all important aspects in the school’s culture (Jones and Brown 103). The program also gives foreign students special attention to ensure that they have an easier time while adjusting to the learning environment. Students are encouraged to welcome foreign students and offer them any help that they may need. The program should seek to improve the foreign students’ communication by offering them a student to guide them through the first weeks of campus.
