Alternative work patterns: People take up different kinds of professions and follow a specific routine, however often it is found that these professions do not fall in line with their interest and abilities. Alternative work pattern is one such concept which is based on providing alternatives and enabling the identification and search of such jobs, environments and atmospheres which may suit an individual more.Scope of Alternative Work Pattern:Alternative work patterns not just entail the kind of methods adopted, but also the kind of professions adopted.

This may be the non conventional kind of jobs. They are also pertinent to the working hours undertaken which may be different from the conventional working hours under taken. For example while organizations in a particular place may work from 9 to 6 in the day timings, alternative work pattern may incorporate working hours in the evenings, and possible early in the morning.Alternative working pattern has many dividends to it, namely interest based working, motivational performances, and more yield out of the activities.

Since the tasks are performed according to the liking of individuals and based on their tempo and interest, the chances of successful outcome are relatively higher for this matter. Free lancing workers employment is another characteristic of this kind of working scheme, and allows the workers more option and freedom in their work, and they may work whenever they feel like working without needing to follow a strict time table. Another name given to this scheme is flexible working procedures and methods (Knapp,671).
