The methods of stress management success depend on the nature of the stress and the level of preparedness in tackling the situation.
A. The 3-Dimensional stress management model is a model based on three main parts of evaluation and control (Hussin 16). The three main phases are stress surveying, stress projection, and stress mapping.
I. Stress surveying is the process of evaluating the workplace to establish the level of work-related stress in the work environment.
II. Stress projection involves establishing the level of stress resulting from the working environment
III. Stress mapping involves identifying issues that lead to stress and marking them to ensure success
B. Individual methods of stress reduction are effective because they encourage individual actions in stress management.
I. Individual self-perception and power are vital issues in stress control. Some view power as the locus of control the greater it is the greater the stress levels.
II. Involvement in physical activities such as swimming cycling and walking reduces the occurrence of stress
A. The effectiveness of a stress model in solving the problems associated with stress will be based on the ability to address stress issues in the workplace. The two models have diverse advantages (Smith 132).
I. 3-Dimensional model addresses stress as an organizational issue that addresses activities that lead to stress build-up.
II. The individual stress control model is based on an individual approach to stress management (Treven 4).
B. The approaches have several limitations that could be attained.
I. The individual stress control model relies on personal evaluation which may not be accurate
II. Group evaluations in the 3-Dimensional model may not be effective because of the individual differences in the group which may be diverse (Olpin and Hesson 67). Read More
