In the first paragraph, the author of the essay presents a clear statement in the last paragraph, which sets the tone of the essay. The organization of the essay is logical since the essay moves from generalities to specifics, and then to generalities again in the last paragraph. The essay is a proposal argument despite the topic being general since the author creates other numerous proposals that he dwells on as the essay progresses. The essay has an introductory paragraph, where the author states the thesis.

In addition, there are body paragraphs where the author explains the author explains his proposals. Finally, a concluding paragraph restates the thesis of the essay. Each paragraph focuses on a different aspect as the author explains his overall proposal. However, the transition is poor since there are instances where the author states points without connecting them to each other. The author fails to use external sources, and in instances where it appears the author used any sources, then the author failed to reference the sources.

In one instance, the author states some statistical data without acknowledging the source of the data. The failure to use, or reference, reliable and relevant sources implies that the author relied on intuition and personal knowledge to write the essay. The essay is persuasive enough to convince the reader on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. However, the essay would have been more persuasive had the author used reliable and relevant sources to develop the thesis. There are a few moments of illogical leaps in the essay when the author casually assigns a cause-effect relationship without providing enough facts.

However, this does not happen throughout the essay. The author is able to develop ethos since the essays is convincing in relationship with the thesis. In addition, the author developed pathos effectively by provoking emotions on the importance of healthy diets since the author provided the effects of the failure to observe a healthy diet. Conversely, the author developed logos effectively by presenting a few facts and statistics in the essay, which provided a logical argument. Finally, a few parts in the essay are incoherent since they lacked meaningful connection.
