Ways in Which the Search for Security is Associated with a Process of Individual or Family Responsibilisation In many settings, the government will always look at the parents as the initial source of disciplining force for their children. Everyone believes that the family is the building block needed to ensure that the society explores the best methods of dealing with the social issues while at the same time creating new opportunities to grow a secure society. The most essential part of the society is to examine the key attributes that define security and basic amenities, which seem intertwined because most will commit crimes to fend for their families or themselves. The important thing is to look for different ways of working towards the growth of a safe society by bringing out the best in the available security measures. Parents who are more responsible show an essential need of taking control of children, hence, raising them as disciplined adults. One thing noted by McCarthy is that the power dynamics in a family could be quite critical in determining how people view the society. If a family does not work on maintaining better relationships amongst them, it will be difficult to do the same within the society (McCarthy 2008: 62). The aspect of a normal daily life will only develop if societies can share in the same sense of responsibility as noted amongst a majority of the people, something that works best in meeting the fragile and constant need for negotiation. Lack of such beliefs, values and norms will be transferred outside of a homestead and into the society, eventually beyond. Such ideals are essential, and as Arthur states, sometimes is it is important to punish the parents for the crimes of their children (2005: 233). The main idea is to generate as much support for parents to continue taking care of their children, while allowing them to instil discipline as require. This will boost the level of discipline from the lowest social unit to the national platform. Cochrane and Talbot note that the most essential part of the social gatherings in the world are all castigated by the precarious situations experienced from the top to the bottom (2008: 164). The most essential aspect of the society always works on limiting the feelings that could jeopardize relationships, hence a need to calculate the impending notions that could lead to antisocial behaviours. The society understands the key causes of insecurity, something that formally starts with the family unit and goes on to haunt the rest of the society (Cochrane and Talbot 2008: 164). Social fears show that something, both from the lack of discipline at the family unit or lack of assurance from the leaders, trigger these notions and cause much fear. Importantly, Parenting Orders and Anti-social Behaviour Legislation cited by the Cochrane and Talbot show that the society has been thinking of new ways of dealing with crime based on parental skills (2008: 166). The society always understands that its mileage will be based on the ideals that define the behavioural systems within the society, and that allows them to work on the pressures facing the families, as well as the cultural values that have a great impact on the way things work in the society. Arthur brings out this conversation well and opines that the family and the government are two social institutions that confront one another and create difficulties for law and order to take place, or work together for the general good of the society. The important thing is to examine the core aspects of the society that are imperative in meeting the security needs of the society while making the government’s work better and easier to deliver security (McCarthy 2008: 62-63). An important thing to note is that the security of any particular nation will only emanate from the ability to create a responsible approach towards everything in place. In many of the activities taking place in the world today, the only way of making the society understand its role is by making sure that parents are playing their roles in disciplining their children. The government will take the next step by making sure that the risks for legal action are well known but necessarily applied because of the need to have a well-disciplined society. In countries where parents take their responsibilities serious from the developmental stages of their babies, it is difficult finding them misbehaving (Cochrane and Talbot 2008: 4). The media is also part of the society. It is a representation of what people emulate and displays the core values and norms of a society. The main ideal is based on the ideas that the media will play a huge role in ensuring the government fulfils its mandate of offering security to the people. Jewkes notes that most of the people get their fears and information on the rising crimes from the media, and this means the media has a huge responsibility of making the right choices based on the message disseminated (2008: 33). Some even blame the same newspapers for magnifying crimes for economic purposes, and that is a reflection of what the society thinks is the key concern. The problems affecting the society in many of the areas are not able to define the way the society works, and that implies generating new means that promote nostalgic views regarding the impact of crime in the society. If the people have their attention tuned to other things, the media would try to make that the source of its revenue. It is important to always work on establishing new means of defending the society against mundane activities that jeopardize the society’s security. If the society becomes responsible, it is easier to deal with crime, and that implies taking responsibilities in being the best to work on the moral values that take place when working towards the growth of the society. Ideally, the most important part of the society is only defined by the inability to meet immediate social needs. The risky behaviours of a few people become the most magnified news in a society and everything else seems unimportant when making the best choices within a society. If that does not work well, the only risk people face is on the disproportionate feelings that that create fear in a population (Jewkes 2008: 34). Though Arthur notes that some of the parents do not have the right opportunity to work on the child-rearing methods required for proper subsistence, the government was willing to take the children to industrial schools to train them in any craft. The parents who were found to lack a will take care of their children were all forced to contribute to the wellbeing of their children though contribution to the industrial schools (Arthur 2005: 234). In the same line, it is important to create a new way of examining the conduct of children and with time, understand what assistance to accord them. As Fergusson and Muncie note, the best way of classifying these is by examining the potential harm of actions to the rest, the undirected nature in regard to the person or property, as well as the implied threat that derives from association of different offenses to certain behaviours (2008: 98). The impact of these activities to the society will determine how much the family unit affects the security too. The important thing is generating the right publicity of what is right and making sure that everyone understands the essential goals of making the society a better a place. The problem will be dealt with when families take care of their children in a way of allows them to meet the important roles allowed within a functional society. Governments need not only work with parents but also mandate the media to play a huge role in establishing the right notions of what the society requires. The only problem is the lack of ideas that may not provide the society with good ideals and that could hinder the realization of the security goals expected within a social gathering (Arthur 2005: 235-6). The government will not work on punishing the parents if the family units become responsible and tailor the needs of their children based on what society considers ideal. In many cases, the people will lack a better understanding of their needs because they do not understand how to meet their general needs as individuals. With assistance from the government, parents can rear their children based on good conduct and come up with the best means of handling their problems (Arthur 2005: 237). The situations children find themselves in only trigger the intended notions of handling the behaviours noted amongst the children. The individual conduct of a child should be considered as the blueprint to the kind of adulthood one will lead. If the parents take time when the kinds are young, training them will be easy. Fergusson and Muncie clearly state that the best thing is to concentrate on the young generation because of the prominence to antisocial behaviour which highlights the dilemmas that many will face when working towards a unified means of handling security situations (2008: 99). In conclusion, the main reason why parents and the society as a whole should yearn to train the younger generation on better ways of handling their behaviour is that they are prone to antisocial behaviour at a young age. By teaching them what is ideal, it is possible to create new ways of handling their issues while at the same time creating better ideals that provide behaviour training for the sake of a better and secure future.
