Marriage and Relationship interview assignment The social environment consists of smaller units, families, which are formed by the people who made a commitment to each other. That is why a profound analysis of relationships is likely to provide valuable and insightful information about the nature of human beings. This paper will present results of interviews with several people concerning the peculiarities of their romantic relationships.Thus, it was found that those people who are involved in healthy as well as successful relationship at first could not answer a simple question: what attracted them to their partner.
Indeed, this might be seen as a sign that the nature of good relationship is not rational: it is found on some subconscious level.Concerning expectations that people held with regard to their marriage, the people who were interviewed can be divided into two distinct groups: on the one hand, some individuals tend to be idealistic about the future and envision it to be very bright; on the other hand, there are people who are quite realistic in their analysis and point out that marriage will require a considerable amount of effort from both.
It must be noted that the period in the course of which the couple has been dating has tremendous influence on the way people in the relationship perceive it. For example, one couple that was interviewed has been dating for three years and they seem to have accumulated enough experience to reinforce their relationship.Surprisingly, when being asked about the favorite think about their relationship, almost all the people mentioned comfort that they were able to enjoy. This means that a successful as well as functional relationship is characterized by comfort that can be sensed on every level of it.
A particular attention was devoted to the concept of emotional health in relationships. The majority of respondents broadly described this concept as lack of pressure and the ability to exercise one’s freedom. All this contributed to the understanding that an emotionally healthy relationships provide people with opportunities for self realization.It was extremely interesting to learn what people in successful relationships think about those which failed. According to some individuals, the outcome of marriage can be easily determined by the way the couple treats it other on a daily basis.
In other words, mutual respect is something that will surely contribute to the stability of any relationship.The people who are currently in relationships gave different advice to those who are single. However, the most important one focused on the necessity to keep looking for a person, who is not the perfect match in every aspect, but the one who is respectful and truly devoted to the relationship.Finally, the majority of the respondents agree that ability to find compromises, compassion and calmness while being under stress are some of the essential attributes of a successful marriage since they allow two people find a common ground in every situation that they face in life together.
In other words, a couple should never forget that it consists of two people who make a decision to evolve together.
