Pain, a digital story by Vuong is very interesting and touching story. Her on how her father would aid in keeping the troubling boyfriend away makes the story appealing to young youths like me (“So for Pain I am Grateful”). This part of the story reminds me of what takes place in our society; fathers are known of protecting their daughters with all means including punishing the troublesome boyfriends. Her expression on how her father intimidates her boyfriend currently emphasizes on the protective role of any father. 2. The image that attracted my attention very much is that of a father holding the hand of a child while walking.

This image justifies believes of most people including me that parents are very protective and caring. It also paints a clear picture of Vuong and her father in my mind. Through it, I try to imagine how Vuong enjoyed the presence of her father and the reasons as to why she cannot afford to lose him through hepatitis (“So for Pain I am Grateful”). Additionally, the image shows how the closeness of Vuong and her father would keep away any boyfriend who would have thought of approaching her. 3. I concur with Vuong’s perception that a father is very elemental to any family.

A contribution of a father to any child’s life is very significant and cannot be played by any other person apart from him. Since any father portrays love to his child, it is crucial for the child also to love his father in return.
