Industrial Organizational Psychology Industrial Organization Psychology This is a field of psychology that applies theories and principles of psychology to organizations. By psychology experts, this is often known as I/O psychology. It focuses on increasing workplace productivity and other such related issues like physical and mental well being of workers in the organization. The specialists in this field are referred to as, industrial psychologists, and they perform a wide range of tasks. The tasks include: company evaluations, conducting of leadership training, as well as studying employee attitudes and behavior (Kendra, 2013).

As a student with interest in organization and organizational management, this field of psychology is therefore of much interest to me as it will enable me to apply my management skills effectively by being able to study employees’ behavior and attitudes (Tammy, 2013). In the organization, where leadership training will also be required, the knowledge from this field of psychology will enable me to conduct the training effectively, and help me to do good evaluations to the company I’m working with.

Personally, this field of psychology enables me to realize and recognize myself as an industrial worker. I’m able to discover my attitudes, behavior and character at work place as well as enhance my own leadership qualities. I’m also able to relate well with other workers at work place and even help some by identifying their leadership skills through the knowledge of industrial organizational psychology. I’m able to interact well with workers since I can study their behavior so that I can know how to approach themu (Roseanne, 2013).

This discipline can also help me to carryout organizational investigation to various employees when such expertise is required. References Kendra, C. (2013).
