Industrial & Organizational Psychology: Fantasy Organization Job Satisfaction Task Industrial & Organizational Psychology: Fantasy Organization Job SatisfactionChalmo Company Limited deals with provision of tourism products, as well as, other related services such as catering and accommodation. As part of its organizational culture and structure, the company strives to provide a conducive business environment within which its workers can operate and enjoy their work. As such, job satisfaction is key in the operations and activities of the organization.

The company ensures that each employee gets total satisfaction from what he or she does at the company, as well as, enjoys it to the fullest. Such a high level of job satisfaction ensures that the employee maximizes their productivity, and enhances their efficiency and effectiveness while undertaking their duties within the organization, which in turn resonates in improved productivity and profitability of the company. For instance, an employee who performs happily his or her job will attend politely and cheerfully to the customers, and this will create a lasting customer journey experience, which develops trust and confidence by customers in the company’s services and products (Robert, 2008).

As such, the company undertakes a number of initiatives in order to address, maintain and improve the job satisfaction levels of its employees. Some of these practices include training and development, promotions, pay rise, bonuses and commissions, overtime payments, paid leaves and off days, as well as, other allowances provided within the company, such as house, travel, health and education allowances. Training and development enables an employee to master their skills in their profession, as well as, promote specialization in the industry, which in turn leads to the employee performing his or her duties based on experience and knowledge rather than by the book, leading to employee satisfaction.

Periodic evaluation and appraisals of employees by the organization also enhance job satisfaction as the management promotes or gives a salary hike to those employees who perform exemplary amongst their peers, which is a way of motivating them to work even harder. Bonuses, commissions, and allowances are also effective in creating job satisfaction among employees, together with acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of each individual employee (Aamodt, 2013). Job satisfaction is very important in every business organization because it holds the workers together.

This concept of job satisfaction also has close interrelations with other aspects of organizational importance such as performance, organizational commitment, absenteeism and turnover, as well as, organizational citizenship behavior. Job satisfaction enhances organizational commitment because the enjoyment brought by a satisfying job leads to the worker loving his or her job, and as such, commit to it to ensure it is successful and profitable. This in turn enhances their performance at their places of work.

Commitment to ones place of work is the best medicine for absenteeism and turnover within an organization as an employee who loves their job would not want to risk it through absenting himself or herself from work, or lose it through resigning or quitting. This will eventually result in employees undertaking various organizational citizenship behaviors that will enhance and promote teamwork, cooperation, productivity, as well as, efficiency and effectiveness within the organization (Robert, 2008).
