Psychological Violence Assessment Psychological violence entails use of hostile behaviors or power by an individual to dehumanize, undermine, or treat another person as an object. Psychological violence occurs frequently when individuals in power willfully use their mandate to destroy and/or impair a persons competence, respect, self-esteem, happiness, and dignity.Overall, the past and present psychological violence in my life has changed. Over the recent past, I have been displaying increased psychological violence as depicted in my scores.

The score show increased use of power to demean others through actions such as name calling, devaluations, destructive rejections scapegoating, and diminishing other people’s self-confidence, competence, and esteem. The score of different behaviors depictive of psychological violence have increased. This can be attributed to the recent changes in my life. I am an international student and going to the army is mandatory in my country. Therefore I am having a tough time deciding when to go and how.

There are different kinds of army but I must pass a medical test to be allowed to go to army school. However, if I fail the medical test, I am allowed to work at government institution instead of going to the army. I think this is definitely affecting my mindset recently since I have been experiencing increased anxiety and it is increasingly becoming hard to deal with people. Personally, I have been a victim of psychological violence when I worked in a company where racism was high. One of my colleagues thought I was less experienced and used to demonstrate hostility towards me.

However, I dealt with the situation by avoiding him and it worked. I also ensured I did my best and my superior, who made me realize I was fit for the job, always recognized my efforts.Working with Human PainEveryone experiences pain at some stage in life. The pains are of different kinds and include emotional and physical changes. There are four stages of working with human pain and include embracing the pain, journeying with the pain, letting go of pain, and deriving the benefits of pain. Most people prefer to avoid thinking about pain that characterizes human suffering.

Nonetheless, trying to shun the pain only prolongs the period for which we live with the pain. However, embracing the pain enables individuals to deal with it more effectively. Moreover, humans are able to relate to their pain when they accept that they are experiencing it. This enables humans to lean from their problems and deal with them. The next phase of working with human pain is journeying with pain. This phase entails considering pain as part of human life that cannot be avoided. By doing this, humans are able to learn how to deal with different kind of pains in human life (Weston 45-50).

The next stage entails letting go of pain. This involves letting go of the past anguishes and transforming from the painful past. By this phase, humans are free from the painful memories and self-destructive emotions. The last stage entails deriving the benefits of pain. This is recognizing the strengths that emerge from dealing with the pain. This phase is associated with a better feeling and results in emotional balance. The benefits include being able to learn from the painful past and improve on the present (Weston 44-50).
