Download file to see previous pages The research indicates that children of same-sex parents are no more likely or less likely to exhibit homosexual tendencies, nor are they more or less susceptible to developmental difficulties in other areas of life than from those raised in households with opposite-sex parents.  However, there remains an important gap in the current literature regarding the social responsibility of the laws and court systems. The development experienced by children in the families with same-sex parents are do not have the legal and social security that is found in families with opposite-sex families. This difference has the potential to create a less secure environment, despite the proof that in other areas families with same-sex parents provide an equal level of developmental results as do families with opposite-sex parents. Therefore, the purpose of the proposed study is to examine previously recorded research that can be associated and correlated to determine the effect of living in a household that is not universally accepted, through the law or through social norms, as legitimate. Findings from this research will help clarify what steps may be recommended to governmental agencies and lawmakers that will ensure the security and safety of these children in order to provide a more stable and secure environment to promote a successful development within the family structure. Writing is a solitary activity, yet the author cannot claim he did this task all alone. From the start there were people who inspired him to do research on the topic and in the end the intended audience, both influenced presences throughout the writing and research process. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
