Evaluating of Personals Evaluation of the people and the person/organization (evaluator) that is carrying out that specific evaluation are of great importance for the progress of individuals, organizations and over all society and country as well. We can define psychologically evaluation as a “systematic investigation or analysis of merit, worth and significance of an object or personals. There is no such thing as specifications that are involved in the process of evaluation; generally people study behavior of their friends more positively rather than strangers, regardless their actual performance on the basis of tasks assigned.
Psychological researchers say that one should think twice before allowing people who know each other take positions in an organization or reaching a legal setting. According to (Daniel Leising, 2007) in making any judgment on the people we know already; we are not capable of removing image to those people which is already created in our minds. (Daniel Leising, 2007) and his colleagues took a pair of friends. They were asked to describe characteristics of each other and were videotaped during this interview.
They after that were videotaped in participating in different standard and challenging situations in the lab. They were also asked to interview Research team had a conclusion that people can easily predict the behavior of their friends’ without even seeing the video tape; while for the strangers they interviewed during experiment they wanted to see video tape to analyze and draw conclusion of stranger’s behavior. In order to have a professional evaluation; for example recruiting people for an organization it is advised to insert some variety in the evaluation intended to be carried.
Evaluation is done by a team of people with each evaluator assigned a particular part to evaluate. All evaluators evaluate all leadership or speech roles and making notes based on them. All the parts or items are focused who are needed to be emphasized and discussed (Toast Masters, 2011). Video evaluation is a modern technique used by evaluators, speakers are recorded on the video and the recordings are reviewed if required. Each evaluator then gives verbal comments referring to the video made and also illustrates them to rest of the people (Toast Masters, 2011).
Sometimes these videos can be viewed by each of the evaluators in private, results and conclusions are with held (Toast Master, 2011). Another technique that is used by most of the evaluators is “Stop the Speaker technique”, in this technique speaker is suddenly stopped by the evaluator and asks questions. Resulting behavior is analyzed and decisions are made on that. In my opinion, a judgment about others and its impact are evaluated on the basis of three basic parameters such as: a) Efficiency. b) Effectiveness. c) Impact.
Inputs tell evaluating authority that input applied for the work provided the desired output or not. Relationship between input and output can also be derived from this method. Effectiveness is measured in terms of the ability to which a decision, judgment and plan has affected the subject which can be a project or a person and in some cases both. Impact is the measure in which difference between actual values and resulted values from decision/input are measured (Shapiro, 2004). Work is also done on the topic by America Psychology Association (American Bar Association & American Psychological Association, 2003) in order to establish an assessment for adults.
A handbook for psychiatrists published in 2003 consisted all the basic principles that are required to perform by psychiatrists in order to make any assessment or judgment and reaching a diagnostic statement (American Bar Association & American Psychological Association, 2003). Basic principles include: a) Identification of the applicable legal standards. b) Determining psychiatric and medical diagnoses for the patient. c) Considering psychiatric and emotional factors. d) Identification of risks that are involved while treating a specific patient and situation. e) Appreciating the individual’s moral values. f) Making a clinical judgment if required.
All of these parameter and other standards that are available in the hand book published by APA in 2003 provide a basic guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of psychology related diseases. Different case studies involving patients are also available throughout the book. For a better understanding of all the issues that are related to a person’s individual psychiatric situation these principles are the basics yet there are great amount of errors that occur in assessment of future human behavior regarding a specific behavior.
It is also noted that humans if believe in some religion; and there is a threat to their religion whether from organization or from government. Also there is no parameter available to estimate behavior of a person or group of persons. The reaction of the people is very strong. As a conclusion before making any assessment regarding behavior of persons known or unknown in mind basic parameters of morality and psychiatric principles explained by experts should be taken into account.
