Project Quality Management Introduction Project quality management can be defined as meeting the s required standards in manufacturing certain product or providing services by an organizations. If a company meets the requirements of their customers in producing a given product or service, it can be said that the company is successful. Many companies should put into consideration the customer’s tastes and preferences when starting a project. Customers are the one that will contribute highly to the company’s success. One of the main quality management techniques that can be applied in a company is by putting customer’s preferences as the priority. Customers are the consumers of the end product of a given company. Topic 1 For many organizations to provide quality product and services, they should consider meeting the wishes of the customer. Customers demand will drive the company in making sure that the end product is of good quality. Customer’s tastes and preferences should be the major concern in an organization. For example, if the LCD televisions set are in high demand, the manufacturing industry should produce such type of television (TV) that is of good value. The TV set should be of the standard that is required by the customers as this will influence its sale. Many customers will buy that product because it has been manufactured according to their standards. Customer’s satisfaction is also another consideration for a good project quality management. If the company wants to manufacture a certain product or provide services to customers, it should consider what customers are in need of at that particular time. Many companies do produce one item for a long period of time of which sometimes that product is of no importance to the customer. For instance, when a company is planning to come up with another project, it would be best to research first on the kind of products or services that customers in certain areas are in need of. This will aid the firm in achieving its goals, thus becoming successful. During manufacturing of certain products or services in a company, employees should do the right thing. This will produce an end product that is original. Unlike if an employee does some mistakes in the process of manufacturing. In repeating the process, it means some stages had been skipped by the worker and the final product will not be of the same value if he or she had followed the procedures well in the first attempt. This will result in several problems and might be one of the failures by the company of not producing good quality products or services. Topic 2 For an organization to provide good quality performance, it should consider perfect communication between the customer and the manufacturer or the provider of the service or product. Good communication skills are important in improving the performance of any organization. Many customers, when provided with information in a way that is pleasing them, will receive the product or service whole heartedly. The supplier should employ workers who have good communication skills in order to pass the information well to the customers. For example, if an organization is advertising their new product or service in the market and they want customers to buy, it should employ people who can make the customers understand the product well. Employees who can describe the product and its usefulness well should be engaged. If it employs those who talks to customers arrogantly, the company will lose market for product or services. Furthermore, to improve the quality performance in an organization, the kind of information that is conveyed at first to customers will determine the purchase or acquisition of the product or service on sale. To change the information that was relayed at first to customers is difficult. More resources are supposed to be used to convince them thus increasing the organization’s expenses. An organization is said to be successful if its employees are involved in training relating to policies that help in governing or running an organization. Employees should be skilled on how to behave in an organization and how to relate with other employees in order to achieve one common goal. In an organization, employees should work as a team to improve the performance. Most of the duties in an organization depend on the other in order to get the required product. For that reason, employees should know how to relate to one another and also in assisting each other for the benefit of the industry. Rules and regulations should be imposed such that in case of any problem that might arise within the industry, employees are knowledgeable on how to go about in solving that issue. A good example is setting policies that will govern certain behaviors in an organization. These policies if not followed should provide disciplinary actions to be taken. Topic 3 For the success of an organization, production of high quality product or services is of significant importance. Organizations should make sure that all the employees are fully dedicated to the provision of certain product or services. Organizations work as a team and all employees should be dedicated to producing quality products or services. The main aim is to produce something that is of high and good quality. But in some industries, you will find that there are some employees who belong to the group “i don’t care”. These employees should be purged in the company because their actions may result in the production of poor and low quality products. They will do anything that might impose harm on the company. As a result, the quality performance drops hence most of the products from the organization will lose market. The profitability will reduce. For example, if the company is to provide security services, all employees should work hard in providing good security. If an employee is not found in his place of work, the company providing those services will lose business because the populace will not trust the company’s services anymore. Thus, tainting the image and reducing the quality of services of that company. Competition amongst different departments in organization will result in good quality performance because everyone is struggling hard to be the best. It will also bring motivation to employees, thus providing direction to the whole organization. In addition, to improve the quality of the product in an organization will also involve the manufacturer solving a problem with the customer. They should work together because the customer has some suggestions on how to improve the quality and he should inform the supplier in order to provide good quality product. This will help the customer from moving from one supplier to another of which he may encounter several other problems that could have been solved by one supplier. For instance, if the customer wants the manufacturer to include certain things to improve the quality of the product, the client should notify the manufacturer or the supplier and the supplier should put the same into consideration. Topic 4 In an organization, everything or anything that happens can be because of the kind of choice that is made by the management when planning the project. The decision made can either make the project to be successful or unsuccessful. When making the decision, the management team should consider the repercussions of that decision and how it can be rectified in case it does not bear the fruits expected in an organization. But if the management will consider the customers’ expectations when making decision, then the company will be successful. Customer’s expectations will help in making concrete decisions about the kind of project to be established. Customer’s expectations act like a foundation for a project because when it is put into consideration, the company will produce quality products and services. Customer’s expectations can be looked at in terms of internal and external customers. Internal customers are those that are involved in the process of producing a product while external customers are those that are going to use the final product. Both customers should be satisfied in their own way. Internal customers should be provided with adequate and quality materials in order to produce a quality product while external customers should get the final product the way they expected. Topic 5 An organization is said to be successful for a longer period of time if its performance in terms of quality is improved in relation to the customer’s tastes and preferences. For an organization to meet the expectations of a customer, it should be aware of, assess, describe and control customer’s requirements. This will require integration of conformance of the customer’s wishes and how fit is the product that is being produced to be used by the customer. This will ensure that the project produce what it was designed for and the product or service should satisfy the actual needs of the customer. The measurement of how the quality product performs in the market is determined by the cost of quality. The cost of quality is the expenditure of non conformance with customer’s needs. Conclusion For an organization to be successful, customer’s taste and preference should be put into consideration when designing a project or planning for a project to be developed. This will improve the quality of the products or services that an organization is set to provide. If an organization meets the customer’s expectation, the industry is said to have achieved its objectives. Customer’s requirements determine the quality of the product or service that is manufactured or provide by an organization. Read More
