SWOT analysis is an integral process for loopholes strategizing of success in an organisation. Manager, Management and Organisation and Why Managers are Important for the Success of an Organisation A manager refers to a person who is in a position of being accountable of some unit, group or department in an organisation. He takes control of the department, guides the human resources and makes crucial decisions on key issues in the organisation. He has a team of personnel reporting to him, so he plays the decision-making role. Management is the process of controlling, synchronizing and scheduling for the resources and people in an organisation or unit. The main purpose management is to drive the organisation towards realization its prearranged objectives and goals. Management involves marketing and improvement (Ananthan & Appannaiah, 2010). Some management specialists refer to management as a factor of production just like money, resources and equipment. It involves joining various organisational functions like preparation, organizing, commercial policymaking, controlling, coordinating and directing. The size of management ranges from a single person to many people in small and large organisations respectively. Organisation refers to a collection of people and wealth for some predestined reason, like for conducting business, for association or society. It is the exploit of organizing resources for a particular reason comprise people and groups of people. They are made up of different functions and are focused on attaining goals collectively (Drucker & Maciariello, 2008). Workers may come and go, but the organisations remain, in other words, they are largely independent of employees. Managers are Important For the Success of An Organisation For any business organisation to accomplish its goals, its employees must be successful in their duties. A business will depend on the strength of its managers to succeed. Good managers influence employees to success. Managers are responsible for recruiting, retaining and motivating the workforce. Managers are responsible for preparation and forecasting to determine the future of the business. Managers organize the necessary resources and people for the achievement of the predetermined business goals. It is their duty to identify and utilize any opportunity available for the organisation (Ananthan & Appannaiah, 2010). They guard the business by foreseeing and moving against any threats to the business’ success. They prioritize and apportion the scarce wealth for various organisational activities Managers sway the staff to perform certain tasks in line with the accomplishment of the business objectives. A manager synchronizes the various activities in an organisation and ensures that they all get accomplished as intended. They decide what is to get completed, who is to do it, how and when it is to be done. They have to propel the business onward despite the challenges they run into. 2. a) Organisational Structure and its Significance in Achieving Organisational Success Organisational structure refers to the arrangement of an organisation’s communications, duties, rights and authority outlines in a hierarchical way. It clearly spells the blueprint of allocating and controlling duties and authority. It also shows how information flows from one level to another in the organisation (Ananthan & Appannaiah, 2010). Every organisation has its organisational configuration. The formation depends on the approach and objectives of the organisation. In organisations where arrangement is central, the higher-ranking management controls the subordinate departments tightly. For organisations where the formation is decentralized, the influence of making decisions gets shared in the midst of the departments and units. If implemented appropriately in any organisation whether big or small, organisational arrangement guides managers and staff on definite issues of human capital. It lays out the systems of reporting that determines the organisation’s workflow. With such a prescribed outline about the structure of a company, it is easier for management to bring in new positions in the organisation. It is even easier to generate a flexible means of accomplishment. In case of the absence of a managerial structure, human resources in the organisation may find it so hard to figure out whom they ought to report to officially. The person with the final influence or responsibility may not be easily recognized (Ananthan & Appannaiah, 2010). Operational efficiency in the organisation gets enhanced as workers are conversant with the pecking order of reporting. The operations of various departments become smooth, fast and efficient. The managerial configuration is a road map for managers while conducting promotions inside the organisation. Managers can make available solid progression tracks for employees and all their workers at entry level. Organisational structure cultivates joint efforts. If all employees work in their departments with the aim of accomplishing their targets as predetermined by the organisational arrangement, the company will easily reach its business aspirations (Drucker & Maciariello, 2008). Leaders of the diverse departments are accountable for handing over projects and tasks to all subordinate staff members. These departments are then able to meet the time limits of their assignments. Through the help of a managerial structure, managers can assess the performance of their human resources. Supervisors are able to see the tasks accomplished by their juniors by utilizing the linear arrangement. They can review the skills and potential of their assistants, how they communicate with their fellow staff and the time they take to complete responsibilities. Using this understanding, the supervisors can go on to carry out semi-annual and annual performance evaluations of the employees. For most organisations like sales and promotion companies, organisational arrangement is useful in running changes in the market (Drucker & Maciariello, 2008). Managers are in a point to meet, identify the origins of problems and build solutions as a team. Change is so frequent in all industries, and the managers must try and ascertain the best organisational structure that can counteract those changes 2. b) Organisational Chart Showing the Organisational Structure of BT Company a) The Vision, Mission and Corporate Strategy Amazon and why SWOT analysis is Important in Carrying out Strategic Management Process of Amazon Amazon is an online sales company, which sells and markets its products through the internet. Engaging of employees enhances early detection of trends, threats or opportunities and an adaptable system allows for quick response. Employees also get the urge to learn more when an organisation reverts to an adaptive culture since it gives support to the workers. Business performance results can get improved significantly through cultural variations in the aspects of the business mission, level of adaptability, employee involvement and adoption of consistency.
