One such practice, which I would like to bring to your notice, is allowing employees to use internet during breaks and lunch periods. Today, internet has become a very significant factor in everyone’s life; a medium which keeps the individual aware and updated about all the important happenings associated with his or her life.

It no longer only serves as a means for entertainment but its uses have expanded but other purposes which include sharing knowledge. A modified and lenient regulation on Internet use can prove to be useful in more than one ways for our organization. First of all, it will provide the employees with the much needed incentive to persevere even more for the accomplishment of the company’s goals. Secondly, it is often observed that employees tend to retard during breaks and lunch periods; however, if such a regulation is passed, then it will act as a catalyst in energizing employees and boosting their motivation levels during breaks.

The permission to interact with their friends and family members on social networking websites, surf news or watch highlights of a soccer game, can all prove to be key drivers in bringing out enhanced performance from the employees. Moreover, through internet use in breaks, employees can share information with each other, which would develop a knowledge-based culture in our organization. Consequently, a regulation to allow internet use during breaks and lunch periods would ultimately benefit both the employees and the organization.
