? Running Head: Application Assignment Application Assignment Full s Details s and teachers need to have a healthyprofessional relationship which becomes beneficial to the two parties in the long-run. This leads to a professional relational development between the teacher and the student. This study will be based on trying to look on the outcomes and the connection between correspondence via e-mail as way of computer aided classes and trying to look on the ways that it can facilitate student need to build a good student teacher professional relational development. From my research it has revealed that when students communicate with their teachers via e-mails and there is a correspondence they view this as a good way of creating student teacher relationship. On the other hand if the teacher communicates with the students via e-mails and there is a correspondence then the teacher views this as way of fostering efficient teacher student relationship. Students have been noted to communicate with their teachers for a number of reasons and some of these reasons includes; Relational aspect. This is described as a bid to try and foster a professional relationship with the teacher. Students do this to familiarize with their teacher and know him well. The other one is the functional aspect .It involves the student giving explanation to the teacher providing reading materials and other syllabus homework and assignments to the students. Another reason why students communicate with their teachers is the participatory reason. Here the student wishes to show their interest and involvement in the class as well as their work. Another one is that of making excuses. In this reason the students try to give out reasons why they have not completed their assignments on time or why they are absent from their lectures or any other reason which might be involved or might arise in the course of their studies. The other reason definitely is expected to be noted is sycophancy. Some students like to make impressions to the teacher to gain some favours. These are mostly called in school circles teachers pets who are not very much liked by other students. After looking at the reasons above one can conclude that student teacher relationship is very important to the two parties. This is because teaching as profession is a relational vocation which cannot be successful without teacher and student having a good relationship. It can not be refuted that teacher student relationship is a contributing factor to the students’ classroom work success and out of the classroom as well. From the discussion above we can note some points which can enhance student teacher relationship. They include; One means of maintaining student teacher relationship is that both of them should reach out to each other personally. This will boost their relationship as they get to meet and talk to each and discuss matters affecting them both.( Martin & Myers, 2006).this should mostly occur after classes or outside the classroom. The communication of outside the class helps students to discuss many topics with the teacher as well as getting to know each other on the social font this helps boost the confidence of the student and strengthens student teacher relationship (Fusani, 1994). In the course of outside class discussion which is known as extra class communication (ECC) it gives room for a large coverage of the syllabus as the teacher can attend to almost every students special needs and personal queries as opposed to doing as a group in the class.ECC also brings out the positive change in the student teacher relationship as their contact between the two which brings them closer to each other (Jaasma and Koper, 1999). After engaging in ECC students tends to gauge what their relationship has yielded and base their studies mostly on the outcome of their engagements. And after some research it was noted that those students who perceive that ECC was beneficial to them they tend to embrace it and moves on with it. But those who dispute it they don’t go on wit it. (Bippus, Kearney, Plax, and Brooks, 2003) Recently students have embraced communication with their teachers through e-mail which has become so common with students but it is extremely beneficial as there is quick response and a teacher can respond to many students at a time. The aim of communication is to extend the student research methods out of the class and look for other avenues to get more information. Interpersonal relationships and their problems If the students relate well with their teachers personally then this definitely affects the academic qualifications and performance positively.( Vulcano 2007) The student and teacher formal and informal understanding is one of the major point where its considered to be the stronghold of their social and academic relation.( Pascarella, Terenzini, & Hibel, 1978), Students from their interrelationships with their teachers they tend to seek career guidance and real life issues as they view the teachers as their role models and mentors ( Bippus et al). Another area where inter personal relationship can be emphasized is through the emergence of e-mail communication which has been majorly used to tackle extra class assignments and communications between students and their teachers which has proved very effective in these modern times. Interpersonal relationship between the student and the teacher has been discovered to be most productive when the teacher posses an approachable character as this makes it easier for his students to approach him. Immediate response and frequent contacts between the teacher and the student has been noted to be having the most impact on the student as they feel satisfied with their class work and the outside tasks to. If the student feels that the teacher is actively and personally involved in their class work and ECC they tend to have a positive response to their courses. If teachers respond to their e-mails and their queries the levels of satisfaction are improved. Interpersonal relationships have recently faced some problems like while using e-mail communication its mostly non-verbal and non –visual which does not conform properly to the aspects of interpersonal relationship. Another problem is student negative attitude towards the teacher and the course which they are undertaking this makes the student withdrawn and less interested to communicate with the teacher through e-mails and ECC. Time has been another problem that interpersonal relationship has encountered as teachers are not always available. Students too, may not be available to for class work or other out of class assignments. From the study above of interpersonal relationship it can be applied to suit the needs and requirements of the students by incorporating them in their relationship with their teachers. It can be applied by student to foster a more efficient interpersonal relationship this is mostly experienced by student who likes to email their teachers. It can best be explained by carrying out a research to ascertain why those students who text their teachers do text them. Some of the reasons discovered were, need for immediate response, seeking of advice and requesting of assignment as well as remitting them. Student can also be asked to carry out a research on their tutors in a bid to answer some questions which mostly concern interpersonal relationship e.g. is the teacher approachable, does he respond queries on time. Another way of apply interpersonal relation is to analyze it results and see if it has brought value to the students studies or not. Students should always maintain communication with the relevant faculties to see to it that their teachers do attend to them sufficiently. After the application of the study of interpersonal relation and conducting a research on it it has been seen that if there is well engagement between the teacher and the student then there will be positive results in the student’s performance. While talking about interpersonal relation we cannot leave e-mail correspondence which has made it easier for students to communicate with teachers as it is a faster and more effective mode of communication. Interpersonal relationship has helped to eliminate the fear and lack of communication between teacher and student which has led to good performance of both the parties. There are no major problems which are experienced in interpersonal relationship except those time and internet communication when using e-mail communication. Student should always carryout researches on how to improve their relationship with teachers so as to achieve academic success and achievement of their educational goals. In other relations like customer supplier relationship it’s very important to have good interpersonal relationship as this will ensure that there will be good business between the two. Spouse to spouse relationship. If it is well represented by good interpersonal relationship skills it will flourish and last forever. Child to parent relation will yield respect towards the parent thus bringing harmony in the family and blessings to the child. Friend to friend relationship will benefit the two mutually and thus reaping the benefits of good interpersonal relationship. Human to God relationship this gives glory and honor to God thus in turn bringing blessings to the believer. Conclusion From the study above I have realized as a student that I should have very good interpersonal relationship skills so as to perform well and exemplary in my studies. Having a professional student teacher relationship is very vital to all students so as to be informed of all class work projects, to be assisted by the teacher with my class work assignments or even out of class issues as this foster a very productive relationship with my teacher. To develop any relationship with anyone one should be ready to know how to communicate well avail him/herself at the right time and be ready to learn from each other. Read More
