The paper "Sustainable Procurement Practices in the Public Sector: ARAMCO" is a great example of a research paper on human resources. The industrial world has a passion for material consumption that is causing critical depletion of the planet’s natural capital, and the creation of an ever-escalating mass of waste that is increasingly complex and life-threatening. An array of the world's most highly respected scientific bodies have called for a reduction in material consumption by a factor of five to ten in the next fifty years.

This translates to a need for organizations to correspondingly reduce their material demands, together with the full spectrum of entities in affluent societies. In many ways, the purchasing department is the organizational gateway to material consumption, and thus these departments hold a particular responsibility to become material guardians and environmental stewards. The purpose of this study is to analyze the procurement practices of ARAMCO to examine the factors responsible for the success and failure of sustainable procurement.

Sustainable Procurement is a process that is adopted by organizations to devise ways and means to achieve value for their money in terms of generating benefits to the company itself while considering the social progress and minimization of dangers to the environment (Arrowsmith 2005, p.151). Both the private and the public sectors are increasingly encouraging this trend whereby they are implementing purchasing practices while keeping the environment and social contexts in mind. This report will include the origins of the Saudi state, the origins of oil exports, and the ways in which these realities influence the modern oil industry.

To achieve these goals, it becomes necessary to make the distinction between political, economic, and (briefly) natural history to build a comprehensive understanding necessary to make meaningful proposals to change; as well as to comprehend resistance to change. Context The case of ARAMCO will be discussed in the study. The reason for selecting ARAMCO was that the company has had a very comprehensive sustainable procurement practice and has set a benchmark in sustainable procurement practices in the area of education in Saudi Arabia.

As a result, this research aims to obtain an in-depth understanding of the best sustainable procurement practices in the area of education by looking at the case of this particular university. The magnitude of the ARAMCO operations has created a huge impact on environmental resources.
