In many ways, the purchasing department is the organizational gateway to material consumption, and thus these departments hold a particular responsibility to become material guardians and environmental stewards.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the procurement practices of ARAMCO and to examine the factors responsible for the success and failure of sustainable procurement. Sustainable Procurement is a process whitehat adopted by organizations to devise ways and means to achieve value for their money in terms of generating benefits to the company itself while considering the social progress and minimization of dangers to the environment (Arrowsmith, 2005, p.151). Both the private and the public sectors are increasingly encouraging this trend whereby they are implementing purchasing practices while keeping the environment and social contexts in mind.

This report will include the origins of the Saudi state, the origins of oil exports, and tho heeslities influence the modern oil industry. To achieve these goals, it becomes necessary to make the distinction between political, economic, and (briefly) natural history to build a comprehensive understanding necessary to make meaningful proposals to change; as well as to comprehend resistance to change.

The case of ARAMCO will be discussed in the study. The reason for selecting ARAMCO was that the company has had a very comprehensive sustainable procurement practice and has set a benchmark in sustainable procurement practices in the area of education in Saudi Arabia. As a result, this research aims to obtain an in-depth understanding of the best sustainable procurement practices in the area of education by looking at the case of this particular company. The magnitude of the ARAMCO operations has created a huge impact on environmental resources. As a result, the management has been concerned about its environmental footprint and has tried, as much as possible to reduce its environmental impact. To TTopobjective, the company has reviewed its consumption of gas, its waste disposal processes, its usage of electricity, and its consumption of food products.

ARAMCO has adopted a sustainable procurement strategy to reduce environmental footprints as much as possible and to make the procurement processes sustainable (Gulf Oil and Gas, 2003).  This study attempts to examine the sustainable procurement practices of ARAMCO to improve understanding regarding the critical factors for the success and failure of sustainable procurement in ARAMCO.

A student planning a future career must understand green technologies and alternative fuels to plan for related careers. Familiarity with the most likely technological innovations is essential in one’s professional life.
