Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in college Accounting coursework working towards a Bachelors Degree or have graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting (or similar) within the past 6 months.
GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Overview
The Grain Management Internship will provide selected candidates the opportunity to gain an understanding of both operations and commercial activities. In addition to gaining valuable real world experience, the Grain Management internship will provide selected candidates the opportunity to gain an understanding of both operations and commercial activities.
Essential Functions
Perform elevator responsibilities including shadowing the manager, applying scale tickets to contracts, reporting barge bushels and grades, participating in customer visits and quoting nightly gain bids.
Become familiar with truck unloading procedures and grain binning, railcar loading operations, grain grading and weight procedures.
Hedge grain purchases and conduct bid sheet maintenance.
Travel to district elevators with the Operations Manager to conduct safety audits, ensure housekeeping standards are met and review mechanical issues.
Work along-side traders in St. Louis to become knowledgeable in risk management for cash, futures and freight decisions, domestic rail tracing and export management.
Gain an understanding of rail operations including exposure to economics, understanding private car fleet economics and becoming familiar with tariff and contract rate agreements
