In the format of the work in APA, a running head indicate the subject under study (Jacobson). The MLA format lacks a running head as it involves only the listing of the name of the student, institution, and the date. Another distinction between MLA and APA that is common is the way the paragraphs are arranged. APA involves indenting the paragraphs while MLA takes a uniform alignment from the main margin. The most appealing format for me from the above examples is APA style.  The main reason why APA makes sense is that it is simpler to use as it only requires the name of the author and the year of publication of the source of the information, that is being used to develop any paper (Jacobson).

For instance, in the reading cases give of orientalism and the Minh-ha, the in-text citation in the Minh-ha paper will be easier than MLA in the orientalism paper.Format of the citation depends a great deal on the type of work that is being undertaken. The creative writings are best done if the APA style is used. The contrary is true to research papers that require much serious citation that goes well with MLA format.  The main reason for this is to support the findings of the research done.
