Historical/Cultural Analysis This paper has an objective to study the trend of women employment over time. There has beenan observable difference in the eras within the aspect of women employment (Burke, 74). Therefore, this paper has an objective of studying on the women employment trends in history, in the present, and the future. In this case, the paper has a hypothesis that compliments and reinforces this goal. The hypothesis quotes that increase in women education has led to increase in their employment currently and in the future.

This hypothesis is the instrument that orients the content of this paper. The appraisal of the story of The Type-writer Girl has a main objective of reflecting on the development of the woman’s position in society. This appraisal has manifested a chronological growth of women in the society of profession. The text manifests this fact through the life of a protagonist Betsey. She graduates from low income occupations of type-writing to being a manager (Allen, 67). Her life reflects a journey of development in career.

It is therefore evident that women have attained empowerment in the workforce and they are no longer assigned purely reproductive roles. Therefore, the key accomplishment of this paper was to explore and reflect on the gradual professional growth of women in society. The paper on Grant Allen’s The Type-Writer Girl has submitted actual social facts through history. Ancient society associated women with purely reproductive roles. These were domestic and family roles (Burke, 74). This fact was a key motivation to the protagonist Betsey towards professional actualization.

She develops her career through type-writing Victoria up to the position of a manager (Allen, 68). The paper is a concrete and comprehensive articulation of historical gender relations development. The associations amongst Betsey and other characters in the text manifest this fact. The defined goals of the paper were adequately met through the chronological evaluation of the life of Betsey as the protagonist of the text. Betsey has been the center of focus for the determination of the career development among the female gender.

The process of writing the paper entailed substantial evaluation of the life of the protagonist Betsey. As a center of focus, her associations with other characters like John, Sir Alton, Charlie, Sarah among others the protagonist records her development in her professional life. Relating the history of feminine empowerment to the story of Betsey was the ultimate step of writing the paper. The consideration of the feminine empowerment in history was the key revision work for this paper. More time for this paper would allow for a deeper insight and revision of secondary materials.

Definitely, authenticity of this paper would be enhanced. Works citedAllen, Grant, & Clarissa J. Suranyi. The Type-Writer Girl. Peterborough: Broadview Press, 2004. Print.Burke, Ronald J. Supporting Womens Career Advancement: Challenges and Opportunities. Cheltenham: Elgar, 2005. Print.
