A man named Alexander who was evacuated at 11 years of age recalls. “We were dumped at a roundabout with our labels on. People pulled and tugged at the children they wanted. It was a bit like a cattle market... people just waded in. I went with a lady and her daughter - she was like a second mum” . Dereck feels disappointed with numerous aspects of his life. Whenever Dereck is faced with a challenge, he gives up. As a child, Dereck was not performing well in his studies, which is evident from the fact that he failed his 11 plus exams thrice. As an adult, Dereck once owned a pub, holiday flats and a shop. At the moment he doesn’t own any of these properties because he got rid of them. Dereck is intimidated by his younger classmates. When he is faced with a problem, he does not ask questions because he believes that he will hurt his pride. He feels that it is too late for him to change who he is.
Dereck is vigilant in pursuing his interests. This is evident from the fact that he likes counselling. Dereck has consistently attended classes and has been pursuing a degree in Psychology for nine months now. While growing up, Dereck realised he was good at sports. He played football at elementary school, where he eventually played for his town, his county and London. After school Dereck proceeded on to become a professional football player for 3 years. Dereck currently plays golf two or three times a week at a golfing society called Elderly Gentlemen’s Golfing Society. Dereck does not think he needs any counselling because he believes he has no problem. He believes that he does not need anybody to help him because he has nothing to complain about. Dereck thinks that he is conceited, proud and confident but all these traits can be attributed to the fact that he is insecure.  ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...?Strengths and Limitations: With this particular client, or, Abby, Adlerian psycho-dynamic therapy has some important strengths, and limitations. First, one of the things about psycho-dynamic therapy, is that analysis was both developed with, and has the important element of 'transference'. Transference is the process whereby an attachment is formed between analyst and analysand such that the analysand is able to project onto the therapist, the person in their own history that they need the therapist to be. However, the process of transference takes a great deal of time, and requires not only duration but frequency of appointments. It can be said that one of the first weaknesses of the psycho-dynamic model, is that it...

Evaluating Client Profile 2 Using a Cognitive or RET Approach
...?Running head: COGNITIVE APPROACH Evaluating Client Profile Using Cognitive Approach I chose Cognitive approach to address Aaron’s problems. This approach has some strengths and limitations when using with this client. I think it is appropriate treatment approach for him because it is evident from the description of the case that he is intelligent and is old enough developmentally to have a logical thinking. The limitation of this approach with Aaron is the fact that I am not sure if Aaron is capable of self-reflection and introspection. While learning more about Aaron in a therapy session, I would want to make sure he is able to think adequately in other areas of his life, besides the problem areas described in the case study... . This is the first time I am attending a dance class like this and I have to admit, I never had formal dance instruction before. My experience is limited to party dancing and I never saw myself attending... Spirit Through...

How the pen is Important
...How the Pen is Important? The more rapidly our society is developing, the smaller is the childs age, when you can see the child with the phone, tablet, computer, or other modern gadget. Therefore many adults support the idea to cancel school notebook and pen. Scientists do not agree with such “up-to-date” parents. They lead quite a strong case in favor of writing with the pen for the child. They claim it is especially useful to write a pen for brain development. In the process of handwriting a special area of the brain is activated. It is the so-called reticular activating system. It acts as a filter, blocking the processing of extraneous information.
