Our website is a unique platform where students can share their papers in a matter of giving an example of the work to be done. If you find papers
matching your topic, you may use them only as an example of work. This is 100% legal. You may not submit downloaded papers as your own, that is cheating. Also you
should remember, that this work was alredy submitted once by a student who originally wrote it.
Where; Ø = is the porosity p = is the pore volume of the reservoir rocks B = is the bulk volume of the reservoir rock (Ketzer and De Ros, 2012)However, porosity does not offer information regarding the distribution of pores, their sizes as well as their connectivity level. Therefore sedimentary rocks having similar porosities are capable of having physical properties that are very different.

The validation process is an important aspect of determining the accuracy of the mathematical aspects of the experiments. The validation is also important in terms of ensuring that the experiment is within the acceptable limit. This means that validation ensures that reasonable results are obtained from the experiment.
It is also common for the smoke to spread to other parts of the building even after the fire has been confined to a particular floor or room. This is mainly attributed to the stack action which is responsible for the movement of the smoke. Experiments have also shown that the open spaces and leakages are also responsible for the movement of smoke within a building.
The design of telescope mounted is also subject to mechanical principles and factors. This site of Mount Kent experiences a lot of dust and therefore the choice of design for telescope mounting is going to be one that allows for the mounting of a mechanical system for dust removal (Andersen, 2007).

When the water flow was increased at water three it was observed that ripples were transformed to dunes. During this stage grains movement is as suspended load, being held up in the flowing water body through turbulent velocity fluctuations, which is unlike with the case of the saltation grains where their weight is not borne from solid to solid contact at the bed (Raudkivi, 1967).
This is because this equipment is mainly mounted at the backside of the tractor and then used to excavate like a hoe. The part of the arm which is close to the tractor is referred to as the boom while the part carrying the bucket is referred to as the dipper stick. Using kingpost as the pivot, the boom is attached to the tractor or the vehicle being used.
Good thermal insulation in the building results in the efficient use of heating energy in the building. When deciding on thermal insulation, considerations are made on the estimation of long-term economic viability and technical solutions. This is based on the physical parameters of thermal comfort in the room and the economic calculations.
In the mechanical ventilation systems, the heat and smoke are forced to exit the room through a process of pressure reduction in the affected room. The smoke control system can be modeled using CFD modeling. A number of things should be observed such as computational domains, physical sub-models, and boundary conditions.
According to UNESCO (2010; 263), infrastructures are key elements in determining the quality of life thus building standards were formulated to ensure stability, efficient energy use, reduce environmental impact, and protect people from fire and other health risks. The term “sustainability” is widespread in many sciences, politics, business, and others and it is often used as synonyms for long-term, durable, and systematic (Ehnert, 2009:35).
Therefore, the CFD design used in this model is ideal and provides a visualization expected in the demonstration of smoke management systems. Further, the model evaluated CO concentrations, temperature, and visibility in the corridors of the entire model. This ensured that the entire model gave the exact expectations for a building under such conditions.

Wichman, et al, 1982 and Kashiwagi, 1986 studied the relative significance of each heat transfer mode in the flame spread process. They found out that the temperature distributions in the solid and gas phases measured for different conditions and the heat flow by each mechanism are obtained by balancing energy in the solid and gas.
Naturally, ammonium nitrate is an explosive compound. To set off an explosion involving ammonium energy only activation energy is needed, this may be a flame or a spark. Once ignited, the ammonium in the nitrate becomes the fuel while the nitrate becomes the nitrate. These chemical properties of ammonium nitrate make bombs containing it very lethal.

Bending moment on simply supported beams is linearly proportional to the mass being applied to it. Therefore, the actual deflection which is also a function of force is equally proportional to the bending moment. Hooke’s law applies up to the maximum elasticity limit during which stress is proportional to strain.
Ethics require that an engineer be familiar with the engineering principles as they try to give facts and opinions to consumers. Deceiving a client into purchasing a given machine is a serious offense. The above three qualities are what holds value in engineering. Ethics also require that engineers explain the defects of a product.
A major part of the course demonstrated how to locate the atrium, stairways, elevators, offices, lavatories, and kitchen in the case of commercial buildings to ensure amenities of the buildings while at the same time satisfying the needs and standards provided for by building Construction of Australia.
The experiment was to establish the effectiveness of the insulation material and the range of effectiveness. I participated in this experiment effectively and delivered all my assigned section in a timely manner. After the group leader received all sections he told us that next week we were to finalize our report ready for handing in.
Structural adequacy is also looked at in terms of the ability of the building to withstand fire or simply referred to Fire Resistance Level (FRL), where according to the Building Code of Australian (BCA) is the grading period in minutes where the building is assessed in terms of structural adequacy, integrity, and insulation.
The barriers to prevent landslides and soil erosion should be environment friendly and also can be constructed cheaply. The appropriate barrier for preventing landslides and soil erosion in Codo is the use of gabion (Miller and Spoolman, 2011). Gabion is a cylinder, cage, or box that is filled with sand, concrete, and rocks.
Some potential hazards may occur in terms of falls or poor quality of the materials utilized. Others include human and operational error and natural causes such as weather. In addition, the completed project may not fulfill the requirements of the customer or the project may not fulfill the requirements of measures of a successful project.
As a student participant in the Code Timor Leste energy project, we will expect to have many benefits towards our career development. Being part of the project gives the participants a rare opportunity to explore the theoretical knowledge impacted in class in the field and being of benefit in offering practical problems.
The procedures will involve the utilization of environmentally-friendly materials, hoping that this will have taken into consideration the nature of the climate around Lautem, which more often than not is affected by calamities like floods, strong winds. A conclusion will be made together with a recommendation on how such projects may be made more feasible in the future on a larger scale.
A successful CM chooses the right people for particular tasks assigned to them. This stimulates accountability and transparency. CMs can effectively motivate team members to finish tasks within the allotted period. It is the responsibility of CMs to count every team member as part of the successful crew.
Car fires that are impact-induced have always been persistent and draw more consideration despite the rate at which the occurrence of such misfortunes have dropped in the late years. The legged robots are mostly using four legs and six legs, but there are developments that have resulted in the designing of a two-legged robot that is more or less like a human being. The development of robots is one of the fascinating research topics in the fields of engineering. There have been developments in improving the design and architecture of robots.
This study recommends the use of a structured schedule to manage the capacity of passengers during the off-peak and peak times. The application of a customer-centered intelligence system adds value to the transport systems in the transport systems by improving the comfort that passengers need from the services and the level of customer satisfaction.
The first Aerogel was developed in 1931 by Steven.S.Kistler, these were forgotten up to 1970 when the French government began the initiative of seeking a method to use porous materials for the storage of oxygen and other rocket fuels (Mortensen, 2007). The quest led to a major interest in this field like the use of sol-gel chemistry in the preparation of silica Aerogel preparation.
The author of the paper states that aerogel is basically made from silicon dioxide that is very amorphous and has grains with sizes between 1.0-10nm which is filled by air forming a 3D structure. Aerogel also has very low conductivities in its various forms, therefore, possessing enormous insulation capacity.
During machining operations, the selection of a material for use in the operation is important for the success of the operation. This is because the operation being performed requires various specifications that have to be achieved. The selection of a material determines the machinability of the product and the final surface finish.
The combustion that takes place of the hot gases and the flames may be ejected out of the building through the windows and the doors. The ejection of the flame may occur suddenly that may enhance the flame to rapidly flow to other compartments. Objects that are in the vicinity may be ignited leading to the spread of fire out of the building.
Image processing ensures some objects are extracted, quantified and analysed from an image that is just about to be used. For an x-ray of a borne a Clark within the borne can be analysed after it has been extracted. In this paper x-ray image and CT image have been analysed for various features.
The organization needs to be conducting an evaluation of information often. In this case, management control should be in such a way that all actions exactly correspond to a plan determined previously, for instance, a budget. This is because such kinds of plans could be based on the situations that existed at the time of their formulation.

Throughout the development of the ICT projects in the project area, group work proved useful because the pooling of the learned information was essential in implementing the project proved helpful. With the aid of group work, wider points of view were reached and this proved useful because the outcome of the project would affect a wider population.
It was brought to my knowledge as to how the feasibility study of a construction project is conducted and the final undertaking of the project itself. Accordingly, I acquired skills, procedures, and different methods used in stabilizing the slope soil in the road and railway line construction and the tests carried out prior to using the In Situ concrete.
Product standards for specified materials (products) usually contain prescriptions regarding the construction of the specimens so as to achieve maximum field application, with sometimes guidance being given on test specimens for the representation of a wider ranger of application. The commencement of testing is after the confirmation has been done in writing
The third test involved half ventilation in the warm surface were at 0.40 level of fire was noticed to rise and at 1.00 whole surface of the material was on fire. At three the paper started smoking at 4.00 the paper started burning and at 5.00 the whole paper burned. At 7.00 the door was closed and there was only smoke with no flashover.
The most influential factors in the construction of tall buildings include economics and technology. The construction of a tall buildings g requires the development of a construction process that acts as the guideline for the completion of the project. This also involves the legal formalities which are involved in the constructions of high rise structure.
Engineering is a sophisticated field to manage. Mangers in this profession attain their positions through their achievements in their technology works. Engineering managers are prone to criticism from their juniors who in most cases tend to believe that they know what they are doing and hence giving them instruction undermines their knowledge.
Air compressors can be used for quick inflation purposes because they release pressurized air. Such products come with built-in mechanical capabilities that can be used to inflate various objects such as kayaks, inflatable canoes, rafts, and tubes inside tires. Compressors are also widely used in the auto industry.

This semester has had a lot of experience that cannot go without mentioning the work expectations I had initially. Some of the experiences learned were very important for several reasons. The experiences impacted the project situation and even raised some implications or questions that can be used as a lesson to future learners or professionals.
Therefore, engineering skills can be utilized by the society and this forms the rationale behind by desire to join EWB project. EWB engages in several fields, thus giving any engineering learner the opportunity to develop experience in both design and implementation of the project along the fundamentals of engineering.
The main implication of surveyor variability on the role of the surveyor in a dilapidations process is in nature and type of variability. Particularly, the issue of concern is determining whether the difference in opinion is a result of unprofessional conduct by the surveyor or a contextual (difference in professional backgrounds) issue
The paper "Changes in the Building and Construction Industry" is an outstanding example of an essay on engineering and construction. Throughout history, building and construction have been an issue of great concern. With the increase in the land cases, collapsing buildings, and the effects thereof, architecture and surveying need to act towards curbing the matter.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, building owners are responsible for identifying, managing, and reducing the risk of fire. The recommended method is risk assessment which in essence is conducting an inspection of the premises, reduce or eliminate the risk or provide measures to keep the workplace safe.
I have also realized, for instance that EWB equips one with the problem solving skills that the society, going through a given problem, massively needs to solve the particular engineering problem they are going through.
