CV about SWOT Introduction This report presents my experience as a mechanical engineer and my thoughts and how to handle the career. The report indicates both analysis and an action plan towards achieving engineering assignments. The report shows a general scope of the capabilities of an aspiring engineer and what they can do. The experiences that I went through affirmed that experience has no substitute. It also indicates that passion is vital to successful understanding of the subject. Strengths I have performed robotics and automotive engines jobs. This gave me exposure when it comes to handling matters of the same nature. I am trained to fix single component of an extremely large system. Therefore, finding effective and efficient solutions has been nurtured in the course of my career. Either alone or as a member of a team, my experience demands problems solving techniques on any project or system. I have worked for small and influential companies. Modern technology has caused the duties of a mechanical engineer to be advanced. I have a course in computers programming, and I can use information technology and computer techniques when need arises. While working for large companies, I had to be part of a team. This gave me the experience to be a team player and to appreciate harmony within team makes. In small companies, teams were understated, and I developed and independent mind when it comes to looking for solutions. My academic transcripts indicate a top student especially in math’s and physics and one who is in this field out of passion. My experience was consolidated while I attended internship in the course of learning. I was able to acquire skills from the ground and improve on inadequacies. Weaknesses Engineering field is a wide field and requires vast experience and exposure (Derbyshire 2012). The exposure I have is helpful but has room for improvement. This is because the mechanical engineering field is dynamic and enormous. It demands time and aggressiveness in order to have knowledge on systems. The other weakness is the use of old technology especially in the student’s laboratories. Opportunities The field of mechanical engineering is widening in scope and capacity. Many industries and opening with an aim of developing state -of -the -art- machines using complex systems. This expansion is an opportunity to showcase engineering skills and develop solutions. The state also encourages innovations done using individual effort as a means of looking for solutions. Individual ingenuity is leads to technological solutions. The other opportunity is change in mechanical engineering curriculum. This has created room for computerized training and use of the latest software when it comes to learning and the practice of engineering (Derbyshire 2012). This technologically sound teaching creates many opportunities for aspiring engineers. The computer science courses I took as part of the engineering have created immense difference in the job market. Threats One of the biggest threats collapses of many manufacturing and motor vehicle industries. This means little or no opportunity for engineers in the job market. The economic crunch has been a direct blow the success of the engineering fraternity. Poor remunerations and low morale can also be sited as threats because the affect the quality and impact of the work done. For engineers to come up with solutions they require funding and state support which in most cases, is declined. The engineering field suffers from much an extent of alienation and is rarely appreciated considering the solutions are contributed to the quality of life in the world today. The climax of these issues is a mass exodus from the field with many young students opting from arts and sports. Action plan Main goal To develop solutions using skills acquired through mechanical engineering for the sake of effectiveness and precision. Motivation To increase the profile of engineering fraternity in the technological world and fuel creatively and innovation to address modern day challenges. Action steps I desire to identity and engineering project or task that shall address of the problem. This may entail working with a team which shares the same ideas. This should happen in the next 30 days Make a valuable, visible contribution to a major project. The can take 90 to 120 days. I am passionate about networks and team building. Therefore, I will get to know the people within my department and division. This should take 3 months. Build stronger relationships with people in my department or team. This entails encouraging them to share new ideas and to love their career. This will take 3 months. Obstacles. Poor funding, which can result lead to inability to meet the existing obligation adequately? Inexperienced teammates can be a challenge to the quality of the work to be done. A tight schedule is tough to keep. Resources Calendar; this shall ensure time limits are adhered to strictly. Existing company events and training chances Professional mechanical engineering opportunities. Action starters One new event should start each week, and the calendar should be followed strictly. Mini-goals and mile stones To identify two or three colleagues to get to know well in case there is a need for a joint venture into a future project. Conclusion The experience I have got from the internship has been of tremendous help. Mechanical engineering requires a lot of experience and passion if excellence is to be achieved. This is what my interest is bringing into the field. The strengths I have listed have been tried and tested in the job market. Therefore, mechanical engineering calls for a holistic approach which all the stake holders participating to ensure success. This includes research and creativity funding and promotion of new and innovative ideas. For this to be achieved, all the projects should be time bound. Activity duration identity and engineering project or task 1 month Make a valuable, visible contribution to a major project 3-4 months get to know the people within my department and division 3 months Build stronger relationships with people in my department or team 3months Fig.1 A tabular summary of the plan of action Appendices 1. Mechanical engineering requires dedication and support just like in many engineering fields. When an engineering student acts without clear time lines, it becomes hard to achieve or deliver in any project (Herweck 2008). Therefore, having a plan of action is vital to all engineers. 2. For engineers, the process of learning is endless. This means that regulate refresher courses should be done if one is to remain relevant in the future. 3. Team values should always be emphasized while undertaking any joint venture. CV Your Name Contact Address: 411 Meeting Streets Apt: 3201 Charleston, SC. 29403 Tel.
