Week 4 discussion 2 I have come to realize the assigning room jobs help children learn the importance of responsibility. In my classroom, I handle job assignment on a fair basis; whereby, I ask all students interested in being in charge of a certain classroom job to stand up and explain why he/she thinks they will handle the job better than their colleagues. I believe the verbal declaration functions to make the applicants pitching for a job accountable to their classmates. I then follow this by demonstrating how to execute each job before handing it over to the student I pick. Moreover, I explain to the students how the duty roster works and that there will be rotation of duties after every few weeks to give every student a chance to handle each responsibility. There are various types of classroom jobs in my classroom. They include:
Paper handler; one student handles this job and it entails collection of assignments and handing out of materials
Librarian; two students handle this job, which entails managing the class library by arranging books on the shelves and recording borrowed books
Board eraser; two students alternate to handle this job, which requires them to erase the board at the end of every lesson
Plant caretaker; one student handles this job and it entails watering the potted plants once a day
Animal caretaker; one student handles this job and it entails feeding and cleaning the quarters of the class pet, a hamster named “Ricco”
Spill crew; about three students handle this job and it entails cleaning of small spills made by their fellow students; for example, juice or paint, in order to ensure the classroom remains neat at all times

ASSIGNMENT CENTRAL LIMITED THEOREM I would easily demonstrate the central limit theorem to my mates by using the example of coin tosses.Say I toss a coin so that every time it lands on its head I score a 1 and every time its tails, I score a 0. Now it I conducted batches of 100 experiments, and added up the total scores, the scores can theoretically vary from 0-100. Now if the experiment is repeated many, many times, I would end up with a situation as shown in the diagram below, where the horizontal axis shows the score and the vertical axis the number of times each score occurs :
By the central limit theorem, by performing the experiment many times, I would end up with a normal distribution, and at very high numbers of exp...

Integrated Business Topics BUS 475 It may be said that the practice of business is not a discipline unto itself but an interdisciplinary endeavor. Seeing it in this way, corporate management must understand the dynamics of applied leadership, leadership selection, and leadership improvement. The fact that an individual is able to remember the name of the brand and have an affirmative association with it making the product selection easier and enhances the satisfaction and value derived from the product or services. But the method I recommend to be adopted in the fast food franchise is “Specific Identification” (Ojugo, 2009). Specific Identification helps in the positive identification of the specific types of units sold as well as those still lying in the ending inventories. This method will help the restaurant to accurately ascertain ending inventory as well as cost of goods sold. It can...

... MARKETING WEEK 4 DISCUSSION Lecturer: MARKETING WEEK 4 DISCUSSION The use of technology in today’s health care delivery can be said to be simply indispensable. This is because of the advantages that the use of technology offers the health service and the risk that comes with an absence of technology based health care delivery. As the Affordable Care Act takes full gear in implementation, it is important to clearly identify the place of technology in general quality of service and Health Insurance Exchanges to be specific. According to Koplan, Liverman and Kraak (2005), there are three major advantageous effects of technology in today’s health care service quality delivery. These are the fact that technology helps in providing computer...

It should be based on such proverbial understanding that the issue of peer review exists in the health care sector as way of ensuring that peers in the delivery of health care share common ideas, knowledge, recommendations and professional critique (Bond and Bond, 2004). Dallon (2000) explained that is a complex system encompassing the review of medical staff members of the quality and effectiveness of service performed by colleague professionals. Faith and Works - Comparison of James 2:14 and Romans 4

While the apostles James and Paul agree that Faith connotes belief in God and Works connotes good actions, James contends that faith and works are both essential for salvation, while Paul asserts that faith is the only requisite.

James is unequivocal in his declaration that “faith by itself if it has no works, is dead” (2:17). However, he does not discount the importance of faith. His contention is that both are essential and one, without the other, is futile. He is addressing Christians, who, we may assume, are already among the congregation of the faithful, by virtue of their professed belief “that God is one” (2:19). Therefore, James accepts that faith is a precondition for salvation but asser...

Gender Pay Gap: A Discussion

The Gender Pay Gap is demonstrated by the fact that it is a consistent and widely observed phenomenon that women earn less than men (Becker, 1957/1985; Bergmann, 1974). Aside from this, there has been sufficient evidence that this form of wage discrimination exists in many cases for no other objective reason other than gender. This is proven by many examples of employers giving higher wages to men with the same position or qualifications as women.

Many academic and workplace studies have attempted to explain why this gap exists because such forms of discriminatory wage practices are a form of inefficient allocation of economic resources (Wharton, 2006; Blau & Kahn, 1992).

Since wages reflect the economic...

Description of Two Established Personality Assessment Tools: Discussion of Strengths and Weaknesses

The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) was developed in the 1930s by Harvard University psychiatrist Henry A. Murray and university student Christiana Morgan in the pursuit of identifying personality characteristics and unconscious human desires (Bosshardt, 2004). TAT assessments generally consist of 31 different cards in which varying ambiguous illustrations and photos are displayed, asking participants to respond to their interpretations of what is occurring within each visual image. Internal conflicts or motivational desires are generally projected by participants who are exposed to TAT assessments, allowing psychologists to determine the personality constructs of individuals.

AS are the shocking statistics that show white and black students begin their public educations in Great Britain scoring equal on standardized tests but from the preteen years onwards, black students begin to lag farther and farther behind. The author points to this as a clear indication of institutional racism. He then concludes his argument by showing...

A Discussion on Fair Value Measurement

Among the accounting standards issued (and will be issued) by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) for the United States generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), nothing has been more scrutinized and criticized than fair value measurement. In fact, the focus on this measurement has been increasing for the past years or so. The IASB, itself, has been working double-time to improve the fair value measurement standards. In 2006, the IASB issued a two-part discussion paper in its invitation to comment on fair value measurement. In introducing the said discussion paper, Sir David Tweedie, the IASB Cha...

Evaluation of Children with Visual Impairment between Ages 4-12

A visually impaired child may suffer from incomplete sight, reduced vision, total blindness as well as legal sightlessness (Kelley and Gale p 45). It is a condition that may become severe in a child, thereby affecting its growth and development. The impact is usually dependent on the kind of loss, age at which it occurs, as well as the general body functioning of the child. The normal interest that is usually evident amongst children on seeing attractive items in their surroundings lacks in a visually impaired child. This may interfere with the child’s learning capabilities unless he/she is assisted to learn. The development of social behavior in children usually depends on the ability to see parents or those in charge of ca...
