Abdulrahman Alshamlan Dr. Spicer Wr 115 21 July PRACTICE AS A COLLEGE AND STRATEGY TO ENHANCE SUCCESS enter college expecting good moments, learning, friendships, and a new sense of direction. They shortly unearth the fact that that college comes with challenges and struggles because of the great weight and expectations that are put on the significance of education. College students go through an immense deal of stress, particularly when they are trying to balance a full time job and have a social life.

The demands of doing many different things with very little time can become overpowering. There are various activities that people develop in colleges. These activities or practices have a profound impact on our future. I, in this essay will try to point out some of these activities ant the strategy following which we can enhance our success during college life. PRACTICES: Following are some of the common practices of college lives: Doing academic studies Filing of researches and reports Extra-curricular activities Sports Debate competitions Annual functions Family and friends Social networking STRATEGY: There are mixtures of strategies given by diverse people for this purpose like: Make your goals lucid Just focus on your studies Discipline your life Do planning and prioritizing daily etc I believe in the following strategy: “Balance out all your practices in a way that you give enough time to each of them.

Nothing should be overlooked” College life is a tough phase. This is a stage where we have to corroborate our studies with the outside world. This is where we learn what we will practice in the practical aspects of our life like on our jobs. Due to the ever increasing demands of the competitive world, college students finds very little time to enjoy extracurricular activities. Even if they are present at any major school functions, games, or social networking, they will be repentant for not getting the assignment done that was to be filed the following day or week.

Majority of the students begin to feel stress that often leads to depression and social seclusion. The apprehension of being a failure and not meeting up to someone’s expectations puts more pressure to the already sleep-deprived, stressed out student. Therefore my strategy is to balance out all the activities. Prioritize and plan your schedule on weekly basis so you should know which practice to give what time and when. For example, if your examinations are coming up, you need to cut down on your social activities.

Reduce your friends’ time. You can continue with your sports activities but the time should not be such that it affects your studies. The reason I am proposing this strategy is because College students are often left with no time of their own. There are some who do jobs along with their studies and must learn to manage the job, studies and family. College is very useful if we know how to reap its benefits. The strain and time organization can all be worked out with patience and lots of consideration from family and friends.

I have shared my strategy with you. I hope it works out in your favor in the same way that it has worked in mine. Remember the key to success is; Balancing out your life, as all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!! “References” Jim. "A College Student Life Essay." 10 August 2010.
