Extract of sample "Website Design Using the Axure Software"

Executive summary The report is about a website design using the Axure Software. Axure Software is a website designing software that does not require the user to input the code. The Axure Software enables one to make a site that requires login details. Harnessing of the website for monitoring physical fitness has gained wide acclaim (McGrath, Michael and Scanaill, 217). Rich Internet applications are supported by the website. The site consists of a page that requires the user’s information and after login; the details of the user are seen on his profile. The website has an interconnection with the Fitbit design according to the software installed. The Fitbit device connects by Bluetooth and inputs the tracking data of a particular individual. The website, therefore, adds the information from the smart device to the profile page of the individual. The individual can then use the information stored on the site to monitor his physical fitness activities, and check if he or she has met the set goals and objectives. The website is thus an interactive platform, which gives quality information to the user, and it ensures that the person can make a concrete decision about his status regarding physical fitness. The website created by Axure, therefore, comes in handy and interlinks with the smart device to produce results on the web page, which are used by the individual for further action. Introduction This report entails the design of a website using Axure Software. Axure is an essential software that helps one to come up with websites without coding. The website’s primary function is to profile data and connect to a smart device, which imputes data on the particular user persona page. The individuals, therefore, use the smart device, which tracks important data regarding them, and when connected to the computer it transfers the information to the website. Process design The website created has components of internet applications that can be used together with smart devices. The site created requires login details of the person using it. The website has a part that requires the input of data from the smart device, which, in this case, is the Fitbit device. Therefore, the website had the login page for the user and the connection to the smart device to get more information about the individual as shown in the diagram below. Every individual has to login to access his or her details. The web page has that option of login of the user in addition to the possibility of the detection and automatic login of the smart device. The axure software is paramount in putting such options available for websites where smart devices can connect to the computer and input information. The website has an interactive interface that helps it get data from the Fitbit device and the user. The user, therefore, inputs data to the website through the smart device. The users can customize their pages to their desired tastes. The Fitbit device controls most bodily activities like walking, running, jogging and the burning of calories, which are an important part of a person’s health and fitness check. The Fitbit device uses Bluetooth to connect to computers or tablets to input information from the various activities undertaken by the users. The users have a page where their information is input from the Fitbit device, and they can monitor they information at their convenience. The device connects to the computer through preinstalled plug and plays software, which then inputs the information of the user specifically to the network. The person can know if their activities have improved their physical fitness or bodybuilding and hence aim to improve on the records stored by the Fitbit device. The Fitbit has an alarm that shows whether it was overutilized or underutilized. Results Three participants of different age brackets took part in the study. The participants used the Fitbit device from morning to a convenient time where there logged in on the website to input data. One of the objectives was to use the website to ensure successful connection of the Fitbit device and input of data from it. Another aim was to ensure that the website would get the installed information from the Fitbit device. The individuals log in to get to their profiles. The participants then selected the track option on the website. Once eh Fitbit device is connected, it signs into the website automatically and asks to show the new information on its display or via others. When the process is finished, the device reverts to tracking mode. The other objective was to ensure that a software was designed that would connect the device to the computer especially through Bluetooth. The testing of the design and software proved to be successful as various participants were used in the process. The participants had a prior knowledge of technology and had technological devices among them being laptops, iPad and computer, tablets and smartphones. In testing the design, I worked on the inputting of data primarily using the website. The participants logged in and connected the Fitbit device to the PC through Bluetooth. I monitored the various inputs as the members input the information. The participants were from different age brackets and had different needs for physical fitness and health. The first participant was an elderly person of 47 years and made a profile on the website. The 47-year-old man can, therefore, keep track of his records on the Fitbit device and ensure that he concentrates on the activities that promote his well-being. The website provides further help for him to improve his health and keep fit. The only process left was to input data daily or at various intervals using the Fitbit device. The second participant, a student, wanted to develop more of his muscles at the same time improve on his physical fitness. He plays football at school, which needs a lot of exercises, and to some extent, he is physically fit. The website will help track his activities and his progress in conjunction with the smart device. The additional assistance from customer care on the site, which is daily, will help him make the best choices regarding his goals and objectives. The third participant was a mother who had just delivered and had gained weight. Her goals were to burn fat, reduce her weight and keep physically fit. Her job does not allow her to exercise since she has a job that consumes most of her time. Since she does not have much activity, the Fitbit device monitors her activities, which include sleeping and walking. She can maximize on the events that will not affect her work at all when looking at her information on the website. The website has people who communicate to the users on any inquiries they many have. The website and software work hand in hand to monitor and keep track of a person’s progress when keeping physically fit. The software is not for sports only but for every person who wants to keep a track of how they are doing physically. The smart device is not expensive, and anyone can get at an affordable price. The creation of the sports website is thus an important step in making gains in keeping fit for the both healthy and unhealthy people. It caters for a wider age bracket from the youths up to sixty years. The website is not only for those people who are in sports but also for everyone who ones aiming to improve their physical fitness. As one monitor on the results obtained from the tracking device, one is the able to come up with changes that will improve the physical fitness of a person and hence well-being (McKean, 152). From every activity that involved connecting to the website through the Fitbit device, emails are sent with a time-lapse of 12 hours or less. Customers can make inquiries on a weekly basis and for foreigners there are dictionaries that will guide them and translate the information on the website so that they can have a better understanding of the procedures. The website’s other aim is to serve as many people as possible regardless of their countries of origin. Hence, many people can benefit from the use of the website and the Fitbit device. Security and maintenance Securing information is necessary for any website. The website’s primary aim is to ensure that the data is secure. The site guarantees the privacy of a person by ensuring that the login is kept private and confidential and forewarning the user from living his page open when using public computers. The traffic to the website is controlled to prevent any spam messages and advertisements that may contain malicious software from being shown on the page. The website has a security that safeguards the information of the people, and the quality of the site is in process. The maintenance of the site is done daily to check and maintain a smooth flow of operations. Recommendations The website interface needs further development to include a chat window where individuals communicate with the relevant persons on the site. The sports technology is appropriate and timely as there are many cases of obesity that because of unhealthy lifestyle it is important to focus on physical fitness and health of the people. The site can recommend different changes on the activities the users engage in especially to people who are mostly glued to computers and other activities that do not have much movement. The people who use the websites can use the information to give their doctors who will help further in ensuring that their situation are taken care of and that they are not striving to exercise at the expense of their health especially old people.
