Though apparently the extension pertains to none of the above cases yet the purpose of the extension if renewed and renovated it may not at all require the Building Regulation’s approval and obtain a retrospective Building Regulation consent for the extension from the Local Authority. When the house converted to a terraced house the extension’s construction becomes perfectly legal considering it is less than 50 cc or 10% of the volume of the original building as cited above. In the case of single or two-storied buildings, using conventional types of foundations, retaining walls and excavation supports where the difference in ground levels does not exceed 2 m, the geotechnical reports may be as simple as a single page. The Ground Report after construction may be considered as consisting of the following 4 sequential parts as listed below.

Since there are no potential on-site or off-site sources of contamination or investigative report on groundwater vulnerability hence the possibility of any concern will come only from the presence of the public sewer.
