In this text, an analysis of the biggest problem facing information technology as one of the future professions is analyzed. The problem discussed in this case is that of rapid technological evolution. The above question is defined as a state where many technologies are developed daily on one industry aspect. With this, therefore, most of the initially adopted technologies by the various organizations become outdated hence ineffective. Consequently, it becomes tough for the affected companies to choose whether to ignore the innovation or adapt to the problem. Some of the available solutions include the following (Morrar et al. 2017). First, the retraining of the workers in various organizations should be encouraged. Secondly, the management can consider redefining the current workforce by employing new skilled workers. Thirdly, the affected firms can consider ignoring the new technology if it may result in further challenges. (Thesis) Organizations should focus on retraining their workers to curb the evident problem of the rapid evolution of technology. Retraining is more comfortable, cheaper, and keeps the firm prepared for the new technologies.

Some of the countries that have been positively affected by this issue of the rapid evolution of technology include America and China's united states. These countries are known as some of the most developed with significant advancements in technology. However, they face a lot of challenges based on the increased cases of conflicting new technologies. Note that governments also implement various new technologies in their systems and policies. Consequently, if the adopted technology fails, these countries end up facing huge losses and disruptions (Benckendorff et al. 2019). Also, due to such failures in new technologies adopted by those countries, their balance of payments becomes negative. With this again, their respective currents may lose their values resulting in market inflations. All these reveal how the issue of many emerging technology disturbs the entire world and all the sectors.

Most of the countries and business corporations rely on this aspect of new technology evolutions for their success. Information technology is the backbone of the success or failure of many of the firms globally. However, the increased phase of changing technology poses a significant challenge for these firms. A key illustration of this problem is where after the emergence of a new technology, another one on the same line is being developed. The technology being created afterward is most likely to be better than the initial one on analyzing this problem. Another primary challenge resulting from this fundamental problem is that some new emerging technologies may fail on implementation (Lee, 2017). Therefore, there are many uncertainties on whether new technology will succeed or fail. Therefore, those firms face many hard times, especially their management, deciding which technology to embrace or ignore. Note that every decision contains its consequences. Therefore, the firms have to be careful in making their choices. Due to the advantages attached to retraining as a solution to this problem. Such as less costly, comfortable, and keeping the firm on the prepared edge, firms should consider it.

Retraining workers by firms is very cheap compared to employing new workers. The reason is that a new workforce involves hiring new employees, which is costly. However, choosing to implement new technology in the company’s unit is very costly. A lot of resources in terms of funds, time, and personal expertise are essential requirements. Most of the companies may choose to ignore such new technologies (Ashta & Biot‐Paquerot, 2018). However, if a new technology is ignored, it may pose a challenge to the firm due to the competition from other firms using the new technology. With this, small business firms with inadequate funds to implement the new technology may fail in the new competitive environment. All these reveal how the problem of the rapid evolution of technology is critical in all firms. Therefore, the firms should consider implementing the stated solutions to manage it. To cope up with the problem of many new emerging technologies, companies should consider retraining its workers.

Firms should consider retraining their works because of its easiness compared to redefining their workforce in the current tight labor market. Obtaining the required population of workers currently is very difficult. The reason is there is a lot of demand for the workers than their supply in the labor market. Most of the organizations have grown widely hence employing many of the available workers. The number also of the skilled workers is not enough to fit the requirement by all the current organizations. Therefore, choosing to redefine the workforce available in different organizations is a tremendous challenge (Legner et al. 2017). The new workforce's recruitment takes a lot of time due to the lengthy processes that have to be followed. It is during this time that the firm loses opportunities due to the inadequacy in human resources required. These companies should otherwise choose on training the available workers it owns currently rather than employing new ones. Maintaining workers through retraining increases their loyalty to the organization due to the advantage of job security. These workers end up working tirelessly towards achieving the firm’s goals and objectives, resulting in the organization's success.

The organizations' preparedness in facing the challenges resulting from the rapid evolution of technology is increased through retraining. An acceptable illustration of this is where a firm might choose to ignore the upcoming technologies. On examining this situation, it is evident that it may result in further losses. The reason is that if a firm ignores a specific necessary technology, it may result in its failure. If other organizations use new technology, it may lead to quality goods and services (Benckendorff et al. 2019). With this, the ignorant firm may lose many of its customers to the other firms. They are resulting in a decline in current sales. However, if the firms focus on retraining their workers, their knowledge will always be upgraded. They will, therefore, face the new technology with confidence.

Consequently, the chances of mismatch in the current worker's skills and the required skills will decline. All these measures will result in the success of these firms in attaining their goals and objectives. Their public reputation will also be improved, leading to more constructive customer relations hence more sales.

For instance, if the firm may choose to train the workers, it will only require its human resource management. It is not either restricted to acquiring an external expert from the outside environment. These firms can also choose to employ few information technology experts who should keep in touch with the changing environments. These experts should be availed all the required resources that can help them in managing these upcoming technologies. With these few experts, the organization's other workers should be periodically updated on the upcoming technologies (Navío et al. 2018). Therefore, it will be more comfortable for these firms to use their hired internal information technology experts than obtaining skilled workers from the tight labor market. Therefore, with the organization's right strategies, the retraining of the workers becomes easier than hiring experts outside the business environment. Note also that the information technology experts may be few in the labor market due to increased demand than supply. Also, they might be costly to hire due to the increased demand factor in the market.

Moreover, the firms save a lot of time through the retraining of its workers internally. If the firm chooses to retrain its workers, it will allocate some time for that every workday. Therefore, the workers will have some more time left to do their daily duties, and therefore, service to customers will remain normal. However, if the firm chooses to hire new workers, it will have to take a lot of time (Benckendorff et al. 2019). Human resource management has to advertise the available vacant position, shortlist, recruit, employ, orient, and train. There is a lot of time that is wasted in covering all these processes in hiring new workers. Therefore, it is more comfortable to train the available workers to save on time for other processes.

Furthermore, training workers improve their capabilities to handle other related jobs. All these are to do with their preparedness to cope with other technological challenges that may be posed by the emerging new technologies. Considering to retrain these workers places the firms in a better position (Lee, 2017). The reason is that different new technologies may require some necessary skills that the workers may already have. These firms will, therefore, not incur further costs in training their workers. The solution of ignoring the new technologies should be undertaken minimally in case of inadequate funds. The reason is that technological advancements lead to the production of quality goods and services. However, retaining workers help to face the challenges effectively; hence, it is the best solution.

Those firms have to redefine their skills by either training those workers or employing other skilled workers. For those organizations and governments affected by the big problem of the rapid evolution of new technology, the following solutions can be useful. If the firm has inadequate funds, it might consider ignoring the latest technology emerging in the information technology sector. If funds are available, the firm can choose to adopt new technology but from a reputable source.

Training of workers in the firms by the management is necessary for increasing the firm's preparedness to the emerging technologies. Furthermore, in the case of the mismatch in the current workforce's skills, the firm can choose to either retrain or employ other skilled workers. Some of the key companies that have embarked on retraining their workforce include Verizon, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric Company. These companies aim at increasing their level of preparedness for emerging technologies. Companies should embark on retraining their workforce to cope up with the problem of the rapid evolution of technology. Therefore, the above-analyzed problem is the biggest in the industry of information technology that has to be appropriately handled.

In conclusion, firms should consider retraining their workers other than hiring new workers or ignoring the new technologies as solutions to the rapid evolution of technology. The main reason behind this analyzed above is that training the available workers is easy, cheap, and helps increase the company’s preparedness for the new technologies. The choice to ignore these new technologies may be ineffective if other competitive firms adopt them effectively (Morrar et al. 2017). There is a lot of competition in the market. Therefore, the firms have to keep their strategies, plans, and machinery upgraded to fit this market. The solution for hiring new employees may pose other challenges because it takes a lot of time to be implemented. Also, a lot of costs may be incurred in recruiting new workers.
