Technology Introduction With the rapid development of technology, many different kinds of technology has changed dramatically, and some of changes affecting the society. In the current society, technology has become an essential part in people’s life, almost everyone in the world use some kinds of technology. These new technologies can change people’s quality of life. For example, phones can change the relationship between people by easily connect with each other.“YouTube can make people became presumes which are producing and consuming media via agency and producers which implies more potential for action and independence (Flew & Smith, 2011, p. 188).” In some case, technologies are also a double-edged sword that it might affect people’s thoughts. Such as phones change the area of surveillance, it is also the way that people are monitored by others. The tort of copy right is still a problem about YouTube. It is obviously shows that how technology changed our daily life and the rule we need to follow. Mobile Phones People’s lives and phones have an inextricable relationship, millions of people use mobile phones every day. It shows that phones play an important role of people’s daily life. Some people use phones for emergency things or build the relationship with others. Early stage, mobile phones were basic communication tools. However, it combines photographing; games and many different function now. Mobile phones can be used to reschedule and communicate in last minute (Line, Jain & Lyons, 2011). Landline phone would not do those things, since no one would always have their landline phone with them. For instance, women will call her husband to pick their children up from school or give a call and tell the school that she will be late a little because she stuck in the traffic. It could also help people to keep in touch with friends and family even in a long distance by using social networking application such as Facebook (Line, Jain, & Lyons, 2011). For example, a student who moves away from home to start university course can use Facebook to meet new friends and also maintain the relationship between old friends and family though his/her mobile phone due to easy accessibility and portability. Mobile phones have a lot of advantage; However, studies show that there are fourfold car incident by use of mobile phones during driving (Mccartt, Hellinga, & Bratiman, 2006), because it distracted driver’s attention. Now, the law banned these behaviors from drivers, in a bid to bring back sanity in the field. Caller identification is also a feature of phones. It can be known the number calling in by the caller ID and they can choose to answer it or not. It is also a way to stop the harassment or prank calls (Ferguson, 2001). However, the option of caller ID anonymity also came out, which is users can choose to block their number from showing up on other’s phones while they calling (Ferguson, 2001). It seems like cannot reach the purpose of caller ID. Still, some people may not want to answer a call from others due to some reasons, caller identification would assist them to do it. On the other hand, a number of people use phones to photographing and upload the pictures to website such as Facebook and instagram. It makes the users under surveillance through mobile phones. “Some of this surveillance is purposeful and targeted and some of it is incidental a side effect of other features (Flew & Smith, 2011, p.231).” Especially for instagram and path which are popularity recently, both applications have ability to share pictures and locations. Not only is social networking application, but also sending messages and phone calls also can bring the users under surveillance. In some case, it also has advantage, which can locate users clearly and quickly if they are in dangerous. YouTube YouTube is one of the most popular websites for people to upload, share videos and comments (Flew & Smith, 2011, p.187). This technological advancement has been made possible by the evolution of the internet. Since any technological advancement has its positive and negative attributes, the same do exist for the development of YouTube. Some of the advantages of YouTube include A, Proprietary Rights over Uploaded Content Proprietary rights have different parties who include members and non-members. In this regard, non-members do not the right on the content they upload. On the other hand, partners have copyright rights on any content they upload. Copyright legally award the person uploading the content exclusive right over a specified period as stipulated by the law. As such, copyright holders determine who benefits from the uploaded content either monetary or through content. In the case of non-members, YouTube undertakes the rights to share the content in the best way they deem. Ad Revenue Sharing Makes You Money There are numerous adverts that are posted on YouTube webpages. Different organizations and institution in a bid to enhance the popularity of specified brands in order to increase sales and consequently returns place these adverts. In the placement of the advert, there are charges, which act as a source of income. In this case, owner of specified webpage share the revenue collected with publisher and YouTube. In this regard, the higher the number of clicks on the specified adverts, the higher the revenue collected. Therefore, YouTube is an important avenue of making more money for different people across the globe as YouTube is accessed globally. Greater Exposure Uploading YouTube video provides an exposure to persons involved. For example, partners have privilege in hosting their videos. Once they upload a video, there are no restrictions, and the video tops the list of searches, which provides a very valuable exposure. Skintillating Page Customization Customization is very important in ensuring that the presentation of the advert on the YouTube page reflects the product as known by the clients. This privilege is available to partners, who use different colors to align their brands. Disadvantages of YouTube Originality is an important aspect considered in all the contents that are uploaded to the YouTube webpage. In this regard, all persons deemed to benefit from any content have to be original in everything they present, which poses a challenge to the persons involved. Language and Location Restrictions There are limitations in the geographical location of persons intending to be partners. This is attributed to it not having been deep rooted although, in the recent past, significant improvement are evident. The countries having challenges in hosting partners span from underdeveloped, developing to developed nations. Rule Restriction Red Tape Rule and regulations are very important in ensuring sanity and order is maintained in every activity we undertake. In some cases, there are few regulations, which do not affect effective interactions of different parties. On the other hand, numerous restrictions do hamper interaction making a commodity or activity not attractive. In this regard, there are many rule involved in ensuring a good stance is maintained by YouTube partners. This does not go well with them and thus a disadvantage. Government security Government security is very essential in ensuring that all activities are undertaken as planned. Due to some security breaches, YouTube is not welcome in some countries across the globe; YouTube have been blocked in china. Dalai Lama had fabricated a video that appeared to show Chinese police officers brutally beating Tibetans after riots last year in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. Chinese government considers YouTube as a way for some anti-government people to louder their voice and thereby putting china in a dangerous situation. Since different countries always have different perspectives and standards, it is so hard for YouTube such a worldwide website to obey all of laws in different countries (Julie, 2006). As a result, YouTube was being prohibited in china based on political safety. Besides, another illegal issue accompany with YouTube is copyright which is also considered a very important thing. In most western countries, such as Britain, there are laws to prevent the copyright from any unauthorized use. While some people upload videos, which are from other people or not their own sources without permission, they might get into the copyright problem even though sometimes they do not realize. Since more and more people are using YouTube to upload and share videos, the copyright problem will be more and more serious if there is no law to regularize it. For such a biggest video website in the world, advertising is one of the most important ways to keep it run. YouTube also have their own advertising strategy that the consumers can put their ads on the website to attract more people to know their products. For example, Paris Hilton’s debut album “Paris” has been rated and commented by lots of people after it is put on the YouTube. Although YouTube is using this new strategy, the traditional online advertising is still taking a very important role. These two ways kept going and YouTube is trying to find the balance between them. The advertising, which Google offers, is not only banner ads, promotions, sponsorships, but also Google and yahoo text-based ads (CNN Tech2009). The reason why advertising is so successful on YouTube is that they combine the ability to watch, comment and display ads. They don’t need to find advertising but advertisers need YouTube. In addition, YouTube is also an example of technology and people are co-constituted, which means they affect each other. Since, many people see others making videos and upload on YouTube, then they want to make their own video and post to the website, it has been continued. Home videos as well as artists music videos are top hits on YouTube. Another example is listener receive clearer sounds from a CD and increasingly demand higher quality sound systems. Reflection Technology has proved to be a very important component of human life. In this regard, it has found application in various fields ranging from business to engineering. From the study, I have acknowledged the importance of internet and YouTube in enhancing business activities as well as providing a platform through which student from different parts of the world can access useful information. In the past, platforms available for marketing did not provide an effective avenue for interaction; this is evident from television. I have understood both the merits and demerits of YouTube and from the information available; it is evident that the merits outweigh the demerits. Mobile phones have become an important tool in the execution of our day-to-day activities. From the course, I have learnt that numerous developments have been realized with the current mobile phones integrating a number of services such as browsing, timing and calculation alongside their main objective of making calls. Conclusion According to the analysis of mobile phones and YouTube, those technologies can change people’s daily lives in different ways. Even though phones may make people under surveillance, it also provides users a safety and convenience way in their lives. Sometimes, phones can cause car incident more often, now the rule is banned use phone from drivers. Although some countries blocked YouTube due to some reasons, YouTube is a way that people can change their interest by making and sharing videos online. Obviously, new technologies can affect people and their daily lives. References CNN Tech. (2009). YouTube blocked in China.
