Finally, an approach to design and management is recommended with increased client and designer involvement.This theoretical comprehensive study discusses the significant impact of Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) Regulations on the construction industry in Birmingham. This shall focus on the work at height incidents and the amended regulations that will affect or lessen accidents.This study was conducted due to incidents of serious injury and death that happened regularly as a result of construction work.

The relevant purpose of this study is to explain the good management of the construction process, which is very essential to help prevent accidents and ill-health in the construction industry (HSENI,2002).The significance of the study lies in the information drive to the public regarding the timely application of CDM to a certain project. According to HSE (www.hse.gov.uk), CDM Regulations are applied to most common building, civil engineering, and engineering construction work.This study will further evaluate how CDM Regulations affect the workers in the construction industry, as well as, the citizens of Birmingham.

The focal aim of this study is to make an analysis of the work at height incidents and how CDM Regulations have helped in reducing them.This shall be attained through these specific objectives:Review the CDM Regulations and explain how effective are amendments being passedCompare and contrast the incidents that happen before and after amendments were madeConsider the significance of the contribution of work-at-height regulations in lessening accidentsAnalyze the existing correlation of regulations made and the reduction of work-at-height incidentsTo help those involved in construction, renovation, or demolition work to understand their duties under the CDM 2007Regulations.
