With the ever – changing world, the importance of the cultures and the sub – cultures are all the more important. It is the culture that binds the organizational values in the society and helps in achieving the finest blend of the past and the present. The culture might be a broad classification of various attributes. Therefore, in order to understand the organizational working and objectives, it is more important to analyze the sub – culture of the organization. Sub – cultures are part of the cultural broad head and there might be various sub–cultures under the single head of culture. In order to understand the sub – culture prevalent in the organization, an interview session is the best method. In this case of the sub – culture at the Heroes Camp, a session of interview with two of the leading office – bearers would definitely provide with the much need deep insights. The interview should essentially take the form of the ethnographic interview and should focus on various features that are associated with the day – to – day working of the Heroes Camp. Interview and Discussion A discussed earlier, the importance of the ethnographic interview with the office bearers of the Heroes Camp is quite essential to understand the working, mechanism and most importantly, the objectives of the Heroes Camp in defining the sub – culture prevalent at the ministry. The Heroes Camp officials readily agreed to be interviewed when contacted for a session as they thought it would further spread the good work that they are engaged upon in the South Bend region of Indiana. The two of the officials who were allowed for the ethnographic interview session with the interviewing team had been Administration In-Charge Kelly Perri and the Associate Pastor Shawn Henderson. Kelly Perri, presently holding the post of Administration In-Charge of the Heroes Camp along with her husband Patrick Perri, is the only daughter of the co – founders of the Heroes Camp i.e. Pat Magley and B. J. Magley. Kelly Perri had the strong feeling for the mission since her early days. Kelly Perri attended the Trinity School of Greenlawn before moving to Chicago to carry forward her interest in dance. Kelly learnt as well as taught dancing along with performing professionally. Being the daughter of the Magley couple, she indulged in to social work even in the Central and the South America. But soon she realized that the needs of the children in the South Bend region of Indiana was also similar to that of the Central and South America and joined the organization floated by her parents, i.e. Heroes Camp. At present, Kelly Perri holds the position of Director of the Fund Development and Expansion. Upon being interviewed, Kelly Perri announced that the Heroes Camp had been serving the local community for around 21 years (1989 to 2010) now and the organization is also looking forward towards expansion in different locations. Ms. Perri confirmed that Heroes Camp started its voyage as the Saturday Super Church way back in 1989 and now it had expanded to four locations among which latest facility comprises of more 20,000 square foot of the area. Ms. Perri also maintained that the popularity of the game of basketball has been shrewdly utilized by the authorities of Heroes Camp to attract children towards the greater goal of development of spirit, soul and life. According to Ms. Perri, the children that are targeted by the Heroes Camp are basically ‘at risk’ in the outer society of the region. Such children are taken towards a long journey in the way of God so they can easily transform themselves. Kerry Perri says that fund has been a major issue in the past for the expansion propaganda but now with the help of technology and inter-net, along with the publicity initiatives, there have been ample availability of donors who are readily agreed to contribute towards the noble work of Heroes Camp as they feel deeply moved with the working and the objectives of the organization. The other person interviewed to understand the working structure of the Heroes Camp was Shawn Henderson. Shawn Henderson was ordained in the year of 2007. Mr. Henderson holds a very compassionate stand and is part of the ministry for more than 19 years now. The institutes that Shawn attended include that of Riley High School, Maryville College (of Tennessee) and IUSB. Shawn was an avid basketball player all throughout his career as he led his college team to All Conference Championship. Mr. Henderson joined Heroes Camp after he completed his masters in Early Childhood Education. Mr. Shawn Henderson had been a popular teacher and has numerous accolades in his favor. As interviewed if he misses his career as teacher, Mr. Henderson boasted off his attachment with Heroes Camp as he confirmed that this stint has provided him the opportunity of serving God as well as teach the under privileged. Mr. Henderson, himself being a champion of the game of basketball, vowed his full support towards the strategy of the ministry to attract the children of the age groups 6 to 13 and above 13 in the way of spirit and God through the game of basketball. According to Shawn, the targeted group basically includes ‘at risk’ children and if not through basket ball, they could not have been attracted. And at the end, the ministry is serving those deprived children in the form of food, shelter and knowledge. Also, adequate measures are initiated to take them in the path of developing their body, spirit and soul. The Heroes Camp focuses upon wholistic development of those included said the Assistant Pastor, Mr. Shawn Henderson. Conclusion The interview sessions with the two top officials of the Heroes Camp were successful. It helped the interviewing team to know about the various intricacies about the running of the Heroes Camp. Both the officials, Ms. Perri and Mr. Henderson were broad minded and helped the team understand about the working and the recent future plans of the Heroes Camp. It could be analyzed that they took extreme pride in the task of working with the deprived children of the region and towards their betterment of spirit, soul and body. The officials of the camp were also of the view that they would expand in the near future so that more ‘at risk’ children can be brought in to the purview and could be provided with food, shelter and clothing along with the working to attain the next higher level.
