Psychologically, humans have different thoughts, opinions and makes different decisions. The difference in thought processes makes humans individuals who have different opinions on the same subject matter. In matters of sexual choices and preferences, people also tend to have different mindsets ranging from polyamoury to choosing kinky sex, the choice of everyone is different.In his article, “Hopelessly Devoted to You, You and You”, writer Williams discusses the existence of polyamoury in society, today.

The homosexual society have especially adopted the polyamorous way of life and regard it as a responsible way of living. Polyamourists may sometimes feel jealously but often realize how polyamoury allows them to choose their orientation freely without having to explain it to anyone and feeling guilty of cheating. In spite of several people taking on this way of sexual choice, psychologists think that the absence of “someone special” in life leads to polyamorous choices.In another article “Mainstreaming Kink: The Politics of BDSM Representation in U.S. popular media”, Weiss discusses the increasing popularity of BD in the society and the influence generated by through a methodological approach employing surveys of print media and practitioners.

The results showed awareness about SM and its increasing popularity especially after popularizing by the mainstream media. In the book, “Wild Side Sex: The book of Kink”, author Midori tells us about kinky sex and fetish for things that have the potential to initiate sexual feelings in a person. In the article, the author distinguished between different classes of sexual preferences such as the leather community or SM. For those who prefer fetish sex a sense of romance and spiritualism is also in it where the object that the individual has a fetish for arouses the same feelings that a loved one would have had.

In the book the “Ethical Slut” talks about the “ethical” perspective of exploring new relations and sexual preferences. The book says that some people have a much narrowed thinking and do not want to wander away from a “normal” heterosexual and monogamous form of life. In the book several myths about lasting relations and sexual orientations have been discussed and clarified as well.Drawing from all of the readings that I have read about the existences of different forms of sex and preferences, I conclude that since we are different we do have the personal freedom to choose what makes us happy and satisfies us.

I do not really feel that polygamy is a crime while monogamy is the only form of life that can keep someone happy since even in monogamous relation boredom may creep in leading to unfaithful behavior. Sexual orientation is also a personal choice, be it heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual while preference for kinky sex is also a matter of personal choice. Fetishism, may to some seem a bit stretched form of sexual preference. However, I personally am of the opinion that people ultimately need the freedom to choose instead of being dictated upon.
