The psychoanalyst was specified a way for acceptable behavior as significant and educational, without refuting its physiological aspects (Erwin, 2003).In this paper, I will explain the main principles of Freud’s psychoanalytic theory with reference to the film Pretty Woman is the film in which Julia Roberts plays the lead role. I will analyze her behavior in different parts of the film in context to Freud’s psychoanalytic theory.FREUD'S PSYCHOANALYTIC THEORYOne of the central criticisms of nearly all theories of character is that they have intricacy accounting for the absurd, less conventional patterns of human philosophy and performance.

The psychoanalytic theory however heads immediately for the jugular, the profound, mystifying foundation of the human psyche, in the hunt of understanding the psychology of the creature (Greenberg, 2003).A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE FILM – PRETTY WOMANEdward's a stylish man and knows Vivian's present job standing, but that is not the sole reason why he advances towards her. If we see in the light of the Freudian theory, both are caught up in problems of their own and they seek a temporary refuge under their sexual desires together.

Edward's a capitalist and makes Vivian a career offer. Things get secure for Vivian and Edward in a way that neither of them imagined. Vivian proved to have a method of centering Edward and encompass him looking at living in a more liberated and revitalized way. Edward is able to bring self-confidence, refinement, and positive reception of art into Vivian's earth, as each embarks on to instruct the other some powerful significant lessons about life and affection.ANALYSIS OF THE FILM In taking into account behavior, the large, unique input of psychoanalytic theory is the proposition that much of the clarification for human behavior, which is habitually out of the ordinary and seemingly clashing, lies basically out of sight in the insensible, and is the consequence of how a human being negotiates contradictory, deep-rooted requirements and instinct (Greenberg, 2003).
